Blackberry Farm Brewery in Walland, Tennessee is not technically remote (only 35 minutes from Knoxville, TN) but it feels remote and is in a very rural location

I'm adding all of these to my bucket list. I've had Cairo, IL on my bucket list for a while and now I'm adding all of these. Southern Illinois or bust !!

Yardley Brothers Brewing's original location is an interesting one. It's on Lamma Island in Hong Kong. You gotta take a boat and then walk for about 10 minutes on a path to a beach to find it. Cars are not allowed on the island.

The island itself is worth the trip but the two beers I had were awful(this was 4 years ago).

Yeah, but New Englanders aren’t used to driving more than 2 hours to get anywhere. I wonder if its proximity to good skiing was a factor in people discovering it.

Well, hype more than skiers, IMHO. For example, the distance between Spokane WA and Seattle Wa, is roughly the same as Philadelphia-Boston.

Shrug. I grew up near Rochester NY, and have a hard time picturing anything in New England, except for the backwoods of Maine, as remote. There's people everywhere! After 40 years, I moved because I ran out of elbow room in my small town.

Yeah, growing up in RI, only NYC seems crowded to me. East Coast Megalopolis upbringing really skews your idea of distance.

See, my current county is larger than R.I., has actual wilderness, but is still only an hour from Vancouver B.C.

If one is near I-5, one is in population. If one is 30 minutes up river, well, banjos.

3 barrel in south fork certainly comes to mind. Somehow Alamosa has two breweries, but it's a decent sized town.

Brickside in Copper Harbor, MI is 90 miles from Thunder Bay, Ontario, (nearest city over 100,000) but a 450 mile drive around Lake Superior. Green Bay, WI is the closest drive. I've been to Alpha Brewing in Alpha and Red Jacket Brewing in Calumet, MI which is on the way to Copper Harbor.

Limiting myself only to places I have been to I would have to say Hill Farmstead. Damn place was wwaaayyyy out in the middle of nowhere from Burlington. Scenery was nice. Nice little drive too, but long. Beer wasn't half bad either :stuck_out_tongue:

Especially so in mud season. But yes, their beer is decent! Bent Hill feels pretty remote as well.

I'm actually surprised that Silver Gulch Brewing up in Fox, Alaska hasn't been mentioned. Pretty good place I was last there - though admittedly that was about 17 years ago when I was a student at UA Fairbanks! Pretty cool brewery and farm, if I recall correctly.

Head to Fairbanks, then keep going another 10 miles. I think they're still the furthest north brewery in the US.
