I haven't been into craft beer for very long so I don't have much experience as a lot of you guys do, But I do appreciate what I drink. I have to say out of all the beers I have tried from different breweries I have to give major props to Ballast Point and Pizza Port. They are both out of San Diego California just a short 2 hour and 45 minute drive south from Oxnard CA, my home town. The reason I love these two breweries are because they have some damn great beers IMO. I'm absolutely in love with Swami's from Pizza Port and their beers are readily available here in Southern California. Ballast point's Dorado and Sculpin are just heavenly. I haven't had a chance to visit them in person but wish to do so next year. I love the fact that both breweries are beach/ocean/fishing oriented or themed however you want to call it. I'm a Spear fisherman and a water man and I love how Ballast point just names most all of their beers after sought after fish that we catch here in Southern California same with Pizza Port they have a Beach influence in their branding, Swami's for example a popular Surf spot out in San Diego. For these reason I am happy to support them and drink their amazing beers as much as I can, not only because of the culture they seem to capture but because at the end of the day it's just damn great beer. Continue to do what you guys do. What are your guys favorite breweries and why? I'd love for you guys to chime in and hear your stories. First thread btw. Cheers!

Nice to see your first thread. Welcome!

By numbers I guess I would need to include Stone. I have just about most of their beers out there. I also like how many beers they put out there, love how there always seems to be something new coming out.

Founders would have to be my all time favorite. Love everything they put out there. Just wish they would venture into 6ers rather then their 4pks.

This is a No brainer for me.

    1. Victory Brewing Company: This brewing company is one of my absolute favorites. They have an assault of Brewpub Goodies that never see bottles, I wish they did though.
    2. Maine Beer Company: This brewery has my seal of approval. Of course their beers are a bit pricy, yet I love their philosophy and trying to promote us to "Do What's Right". It doesn't hurt that they make sure their beers are on the shelf at a week old.
*Of course there's more breweries I enjoy fully, like Fyne Ales in Scotland. They don't send kegs or bottles to the U.S. that often, so that's why I'm giving them an Honorable Mention.

New England Brewing Co - Everything they make is delicious

Tree House - Not only some of the best beers you'll ever have, but some of the finest people you'll ever encounter work there.

Trillium & Night Shift would be up there too, great places to visit.

When including great beers and a great brewery/brewpub experience

    1. Russian River- Great tap list always filled with world class beers. Russian River makes some of the best beers in the world and they are my 2nd favorite brewery by beers only. The food is great. We were there at lunch time when it was slow-but the service was fantastic.

    2. Jackie O's- Great people and a great place with fantastic beers.

    Favorite brewerys by beer only

    1. Troegs- I am impressed by every beer they make. The only brewery that I can say that about. Not a fan of their brewpub though.
    2. Russian River.

    1. Tree House, Tree House, Tree House. The best beer I've ever tasted (Haze & Very Hazy) The nicest folks you'll ever come across. Drive from L.I. to Ma in one day, just to keep their beer in my fridge (and get BT's BBQ, BYOB)
    2. Seventh Son in Columbus, Ohio - a recent favorite from a road trip. Surprisingly good beer and cool place.

Wicked Weed in Asheville was very cool, too

Bell's and Deschutes because I think they have the most consistently good beers across styles. And they're not always trying to beat me over the head with more hops, more bourbon, and a higher ABV.

Jackie O's - local, many solid entries, one of the few spots in Ohio that makes killer sours and the bottle releases are crazy fun.

Firestone Walker - their whole catalog is phenomenal. If it comes in a box, there is always an argument that it's one of the best for the style and usually 3,000+ cases so not too difficult to acquire. I haven't been to their invitational yet but I love the concept.
