What beers would you suggest to someone trying a new style? Something not too strong and overwhelming for a newcomer of a different flavor of beer? Maybe on the lighter side of a particular beer style. One they can get a hint of flavor to start out and work their way up to stronger versions of a particular brew.
What are yours? Please add on more styles if you like.

    Lager: Brooklyn Lager
    Ale: Sam Adams Stock Ale
    IPA: Founders All Day
    Pale Ale: Saranac
    Stout: Guiness
    Wheat: Blue Moon
    Pilsener: Victory Prima Pils

Personally, I would never recommend Blue Moon to someone when Allagash White can be found most places.

    Lager: Sam Adams Boston Lager
    IPA: Sierra Nevada Torpedo
Pale Ale: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

    Pilsener: Pilsner Urquell
    Saison: Boulevard Tank 7
    Sour: Lindeman's Cuvee Rene

I based this on price and availability. Nothing makes me more mad then trying something I spent a good amount of money on and hating it.

I'm a newer craft beer drinker, and I think that the Samuel Adams sampler packs are very good for trying different styles of beer. It kind of turned me on to doing this

Sam Adams was a gateway beer for me, as it is for many people. I don't buy the samplers anymore because there are just too many others to try but you are right. The sampler packs are an awesome way to try different styles and really shape and define your pallet.

I still like Sam Adams as a go to everyday beer. I'm not going to buy 11.50 bottles at my craft store everyday

Pale Ale: Great Lakes Burning River
    Stout: Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout

    Somewhat easily accessible brews:

    Pils: Victory Prima Pils
    Wheat: Sierra Nevada Kellerweis
    IPA: Harpoon
    Porter: Founders
    Stout: Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout
    Wit: Allagash White
Belgian Strong Dark Ale: Chimay Blue

Also, intro craft drinkers, in my experience, have loved Anchor Steam, Long Trail Ale (an altbier) and Sixpoint Sweet Action (a cream ale)

I've been drinking beer for less than 6 months in general. I never had that pre-21 desire to drink, nor did I drink while I was 21, but here are some easy first timers IMO:

    Lager: Sam Adams Boston Lager
    Ale: Sam Adams Boston Ale
Brown Ale: Good People or Back Forty Truckstop Honey
IPA: Magic Hat Ticket to Rye
    Pale Ale: Good People Pale
    Stout: Guinness Foreign Extra
    Porter: Founders
Wit: Harpoon UFO White. (spin it around then pour it though, only way to get everything out of it)
    Pils: Sierra Nevada Summerfest.
    French Red Ale: Gavroche

Prima Pils or Troegs Sunshine Pils, both are outstanding.
    Burning River Pale Ale
    Two Hearted Ale
Kalamazoo Stout- destroys Guinness, and is fairly widely distributed. Guinness is flat and lifeless IMO.

I agree with you on the subject of Guinness Draught, but I like the foreign extra offering. It's a whole different game for them
