I kinda thought Wow beers were
mostly beers with high ABV content.
Not always the case as I checked
some of the Wow beers I have had
and found this interesting list of low
    ABV Gems!

    Calm Before the Storm 5.5%
    Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout 5.5%
    Shake Chocolate Porter 5.9%
    LH Nitro Milk Stout 6.0%
    El Triunfo Coffee Porter 6.0%
    Kane Head High 6.5%

Low ABV beers that Wowed you?

Beers that made me go, "Wow!" Note, a lot of these beers represent key points in my discovery of beer and are not necessarily on this list because they are best in style. In order of ascending ABV:

    • Triton Wit or Wit-Out You (4.5%) - Before this point my experience with witbiers was Blue Moon. While witbiers aren't my favorite style this one did make me say, "Wow!". I really need to revisit it.
    • SN Kellerweis (4.8%) - Got me serious about hefeweizens as a style. It was the first time I got more than just a mouthful of clove.
    • Jever Pils (4.9%) - Herby dry deliciousness.
    • Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%) - Who says lagers need to be some shade of yellow?
    • SN Summerfest (5.0%) - Turned me onto pilsners as a style.
    • Weihenstephaner Pils (5.1%) - I'm convinced the malt in that beer is crafted by wizards.
    • Lindemans Gueuze Cuvée René (5.5%) - A damn fine beer. Considering my previous experience with Lindemans was sickly sweet fruit lambics it just blew my mind.
    • Rodenbach Grand Cru (6.0%) - Not exactly low ABV, but this beer convinced me that sour beer was something I liked beyond the novelty.

In my eyes, I would classify "low ABV" to be in the 5% or less range. But that's me.
Using your low ABV guidelines, I would put Zombie Dust as my favorite, coming in at 6.2%.

Cantillon Fou Foune 5% and De garde- Apricot bu 4.3%, are the two that come to mind. There have been many, as I love sours and many are low abv.

Yeah, for my own part I tend to think of ~5% as 'normal' and below that as 'low'.

The latest new Bell's beer, Oatsmobile, is available in bottles now at the company store (and maybe on your store's shelves too by now). It's dry-hopped with a flavor that I really enjoyed when I had this beer on tap at the Cafe last week.

Fresh Pivo Pils (5.3%) is a very big WOW for me.

ETA: Brew Baker Berliner Weiss (2.5%) is pretty damn awesome as well.

I take beers as I find them and some have been wow without high ABV. Not every Wow woman I've met had enormous assets either.
