Funny enough, I've only had five RIS's up to this point... a few of which are highly acclaimed.

    Worst to best:

5.) Sam Adams Imperial Stout (3.43/5) ... I originally had it just above a 2 rating, but I had it again maybe a month ago after it aged a year. It's considerably better, but I still don't love it.

4.) Plead the 5th Imperial Stout (3.76/5) ... -12.4% on the rDev. Looked incredible and smelled even better, but the beer itself was way too alcohol heavy for me. I need to get it again and let it age a year or two to let it mellow out. I'm sure I'd love it if I did that.

3.) Siberian Night Imperial Stout (3.84/5) ... Nothing really special about this, but maybe that's what makes it work. The ABV doesn't kill my throat or ruin the flavor, and I like that it's actually pretty bitter. I find that some are too sweet ... like the next one.

2.) Ten FIDY (3.98/5) ... Very tasty when it's cold, but it gets way too sweet as it warms up. Not just that, but it's $4 for a single or something like that. Good, but not that good. Too dark fruity, not enough roasty.

1.) Giant Vanilla Slayer (4.3/5) ... Fucking fantastic. That's all. It's roasty and has alcohol warmth, but the vanilla notes and sweetness put it over the top.

I have to adjust my top 5
Bells falls out... Stone Espresso jumps in above Ten Fidy.

I made the mistake of trying S.E.R.I.S. at 9:30 pm. I didn't sleep all night. Was absolutely wired, but it was soooo worth it!

Is it just me; or does anyone else notice that nearly everyone has been listing one or two actual Russian Imperial Stouts and the rest of their list is just Stouts or Imperial Stouts?
