    1: Space Ghost

    No particular order:

Bomb! (Both orange and white wax versions were great but I give the edge to white for having more vanilla presence)
    Xocoveza
    Mexican Cake
    Rum BA Hunahpu
Imperial Biscotti Break DeCicco Version with Chili and Hazelnuts

Honorable mention goes to Odd Side Bourbon Barrel Mocha Stout. I wanted to include Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash in the list since it is a stout that is spiced but, since it's technically a Pumpkin Ale and there's no room for it, I'll leave it out.

Keep in mind that this list won't be complete until I finally get my hands on a Mexican Cake and Hunahpu (regular, not BA), but for now, it's:

    1) Perennial Abraxas - I'm sure the barrel-aging is nice, but the standard version is just a perfect balance of rich chocolate and invigorating cinnamon, with just a kiss of heat from the peppers. Fresh it is an unbelievably amazing cinnamon bomb (for those of you, like me, who like such things), and with some time, it becomes a rich chocolate imperial stout with cinnamon accents. For my money, it's best with about 6-9 months on it.

    2) Stone Xocoveza - While Abraxas might liken itself to a rich cinnamon-spiced chocolate fudge cake, Xocoveza strikes me more like the food after which it was inspired--Mexican hot chocolate. It still has plenty of cinnamon and chocolate (though not as much as Abraxas), but the coffee works to balance those flavor profiles out, and the body, while considerably less than Abraxas, is still substantial enough to avoid the dreaded "watery" mouthfeel, and makes it a little easier to drink. Less of a sipper, but quite good in its own right. I don't even refrigerate it before opening--it's perfect at room temperature.

    3) Ballast Point Indra Kunindra - Going a bit off the reservation here, and I doubt I would see this in anyone else's top five list, but for what it claims to be, an export stout spiced with cumin, curry, kaffir lime leaves and cayenne pepper, it delivers quite well. But be warned, it's a heavily spiced stout, with strong influence from the curry and pepper. To me, it tasted like a really well executed Chai stout with a tease of heat that grows as you drink more of it.

    4) Prairie Pirate Bomb! - I've always been a little disappointed by this beer, because I feel that the coffee and chocolate really overpower the vanilla and peppers, which makes it stand out a little less than it might otherwise. There are a lot of coffee/chocolate stouts. Not quite as many with peppers and vanilla. But it's a very good beer with a great, luscious mouthfeel that is nice on a dreary evening to sip on. It also gets better as it warms (as with many stouts).

    5) TIE: Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero/Luchador En Fuego - Both of these beers have the same problem when it comes to the spiced stout category--they lack the big spice presence that I crave in beers like Abraxas and Xocoveza. And while they are pretty good beers anyway, with Chocolate Sombrero relying on the chocolate to carry it and Luchador En Fuego getting a nice bourbony sweetness from the barrels, they both fall well short of what they could be. I picked them in a tie because neither stands out particularly much.

Awesome! I'm from DC so I love to see others trying Bluejacket brews out!! Mexican Radio is one of my favorites they do. However, it is a "session" stout so the mouthfeel and flavors may not be as "big" as some of the other, higher ABV, spiced stouts

Never had BA Abraxas (supposedly the king of this mountain) but I still think Copper Kettle's Mexican Chocolate Stout is the best of the rest. The spiciness can vary a little thanks to the ingredients, but it's top notch 85-90% of the time. The other times it can be overwhelming.

Prairie Fred's Blend would be #2, although I can just as easily see how someone would prefer that one.
I like normal Bomb and Abraxas, too. I'd put them as a tie for #3. Not sure if anything else really stacks up past those. Cake is okay, but I don't really love it.
No version of Huna does it for me. I'll just leave it at that.

Spiced stouts are probably my favorite style right now. Can't get enough of them. Xocoveza was a big disappointment to me though. Way too sweet and thin. Really looking forward to trying abraxus. Left pirate bomb and dbhuna off the list since they're barrel aged. Honorable mention to luchador en fuego too. That beer is awesome for its price and availability.

Obviously, spices go beyond peppers, and there is no difference between porters and stouts. With that in mind, I would rank them:

    1. Pipeworks Game of Jones
    2. Pipeworks Raspberry Truffle Abduction
    3. Stone Xocoveza
    4. Stone Smoked Porter w/Chipotle
    5. Goose Island Bourbon County Cherry Rye

Honorary mentions to Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Stout, Great Divide Chocolate Oak-Aged Yeti and Ballast Point Victory at Sea.
