    Lunch (car) beer....last year's - still holds up well

    Been having some early "pumpkin-mojo" thing going on lately....think I am getting weary of months of goses, radlers, hefe's, pils, etc....and needing some beers on the darker side....this works!

    Sweet Jesus this is good. I didn't expect the citrus to be so forward, but I'm glad it is. Glad I noticed the ABV before I pounded this back though, I assumed this was like 5-6% based on mouthfeel.

    Scraped, caulked, and primed the garage doors this morning (got too hot to actually paint today). Now enjoying this as I package a box for a trade. I love this beer! Hoppy pineapple.

    For my second day of Traverse City brew tourism I am only making one visit, which is to Brewery Terra Firma

    Decent lineup with nothing outrageous yet a little variety

    I chose four sample pours. First off was "Alice run Amok", a dry hop infused IPA that had the oddest peat / juniper thing going on.

    Next was Batch 500, another IPA but fairly malty.

    Then Manitou Island Hopper, which was very nutty and slightly astringent with some hop on the backend.

    Last was Brown Donkey Smasher which was the heaviest of them all at 9%. It was nutty, had some caramel depth and hid the heat pretty well.

    Good afternoon, BAs! Just now settling in for lunch, but at least it's also the end of my work day. Enjoying this delicious brew along with a chicken bacon ranch pizza:

    Also preparing my dinner: a porterhouse. After a dry rub marinade and 36 hours in the fridge, I then froze it for six hours, followed by a quick fry, and then it's off into the oven for most of the rest of the afternoon.

    That'll be accompanied by some basting, and a final, finishing fry. If this turns out well, I'll be very pleased, since it's sure as hell a lot of effort.

    Good afternoon BA's. The heat and humidity have driven me to hang out in the basement today to chill and enjoy this Tasmanian Hatter from New Holland. This one is on the sweeter side and I'm really liking it. Cheers!
