Good Morning, BA's! I'll get this party started this morning...making pumpkin pancakes for the kids while I have my 'coffee'. :grinning: 2 of my boys that play soccer have 7 games this weekend, so I'll be a busy boy getting them all over the place. Cheers!

I just realized the post number, so this is dedicated to my wife who is a CPA!

A early stout with breakfast as I've had my allotment of regular coffee already today. Getting ready to head towards Kittery,ME for the Mott the Lesser release at noon.

    Morning BA

Just as good or better than last year. Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, dark bread, cream, toast, and light char. Balanced bittersweet finish; with a nice amount of creaminess in the mouthfeel with some light roasted malt stickiness. Very flavorful for 5%, which is higher than last year. This definitely won't be my only 6 pack.

Checking out the new recipe. This still tastes very similar flavor-wise to what I remember of it. Flavors of lemon, banana, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light bubblegum, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized spicy yeast finish with some earthy hop bitterness; with a good amount of dryness, and very smooth with minimal warming ABV. All in all, still just as good as I felt when I first reviewed it. This is a lot dryer and spicier on the yeast and hops than it was before. Glad I got the 6 pack.

Breaking into this year’s Dragons milk variants. Wow! This year’s chili version feels a lot tamer than I recall last year. I remember it being a lot more intense on the pepper heat, and limiting on smoothness because of it. Big flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, molasses, toasted chilies, bourbon, oak, and light licorice/dark fruits. Light-moderate chili pepper spice on the finish that builds through the glass; with pleasant warming pepper heat that builds as well. Neither becomes too overwhelming. This was definitely extremely excellent this year! I definitely will be getting more of this; thankfully this is the one that no one is looking for haha.

2.5 year old Saison Rue. This is quite different than I remember having it at 6 months old. Big flavors of lemon, pineapple, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, honey, candi sugar, and toasted rye bread; with light-moderate banana/clove, herbal/grassy earthiness, and leathery musty notes. Balanced spicy yeast finish against the sweetness, and very smooth for the 8.5% ABV. I think I still prefer Saison De Lente with it's dryer/spicier finish and lighter malt character; but this is still really nice.

    Cheers!

Good Morning Ba and happy Saturday. :grinning:
There's a little Oktoberfest thing happening down on the Commons today I'm looking forward to checking out, but first a Mocha Coffee Porter from Iron Flamingo out of Corning, NY.

    Cheers!

Beers from Friday night, at the Union Hotel (pub) in the Newtown neighborhood of Sydney, one of several event locations during craft beer week. Feral Brewing Company from Western Australia was the tap takeover with over 20 beers on tap. I had "Raging Flem" an 8.5% Belgian-IPA; "Boris" Russian Imperial Stout at 9.1%; "The Jackal" a 4% sour ale; and one of my new favorites, "Cat IPA" ringing in at 8%. The bar was packed and photos are not so hot:

All were solid 4 plus beers, imo! I really like this brewery, but after four pints, I took a taxi home...cheers!

No offense to Funky Pumpkin, but I'm looking right past it in order to see those shelves.
