My first Faro. Lovely color, aroma and flavor. Loved the sweetness and overall mouthfeel. The "burnt plastic" aroma that I can often smell/taste in certain lambics was not there which was a plus.

Good Sunday morning and happy November 1 and the end of "daylight saving time" for another year!

Had a great hike Saturday, still lots of color out and about.....and some good beers as well!

Was going to pull my sailboat out for the season today, but after looking at the forecast - upper 60's-low 70's all this week, I may hold off....I do not often get to go sailing in November in short sleeves!

 

Good Morning BA. My hair was getting annoying so I cut it all off at 530 AM. Also did some cleaning and it feels much fresher in here. Here is what is in my glass this morning:

My go to fall gose, wish this was available all year. Juicy blood orange and balanced tart lemon/lime fruitiness and light-moderate salinity/spice/acidity on the finish; with light wheat/crackery malts. Balanced sweet/tart finish. Super crisp and drinkable. I slightly prefer the normal version overall, but this one is a lot more drinkable with a bit lower acidity and higher sweetness.


Always outstanding, my go-to Oktoberfest this year with the Great Lakes version. Big flavors of honey, toasted biscuit, and nutty malts; with balanced herbal, grassy, light peppery hop flavors. Super clean and robust malt flavors with balanced bitterness. Huge huge fan of this beer, kind of sad that they will be making a different collaboration every year now; but still confident they will release an awesome beer yearly anyways.


Just as incredible as last year’s batch. Juicy and lightly tart raspberries with big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, and bourbon. Balanced bourbon/oak spiciness and light fruit tartness on the finish; with a nice creamy medium-full bodied mouthfeel. This was one of my surprise favorites of last year, I think it outmatches the base beer. It feels much more robust and full bodied to me, and the raspberries are not over done at all. This year’s Chile version is also better than last year too. I am glad I bought plenty of all of them this year. New Holland is so underrated IMO. I have a lot of go-to beers favorites from them.


2015 Devil Dancer is still tasting awesome! Big grapefruit, pineapple, peach, tangerine, mango, citrus peel, and pine; with moderate balanced sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted bread. Nice medium aggressive bitterness with no astringency or cloying flavors. Balanced resinous stickiness and light slickness in mouthfeel. Nice and juicy on hops. I already figured out I like this fresher up to 1 year, plus I am pretty sure Founders changed the hop schedule in the last few years. Zero booziness at 6 months old right now too.
