Happy Veterans Day BA. Thank you to all who have served in the armed forces past and present!

My go to pale ale. Juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, peach, lemon peel, and pine; with moderate honey/bready malt sweetness and nice bitter/sticky/dry finish. Always fantastic.


I’ve been buying a lot of Bell’s amber and porter in the last year, but never the stout. Got a six pack last week. Incredible American stout as usual. Robust flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, light licorice/molasses, and light smoke/charred malts; with a bittersweet balanced finish and medium-full bodied creamy mouthfeel. I’ll be keeping this around more often for sure.


2 year old bottle. Wow, tasting absolutely insane right now. Flavors of huge raisin, prune, fig, date, caramel, toffee, vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, coconut, light chocolate, light leather/tobacco, toasted oak, and bourbon. Extremely well balanced malt/barrel flavor profile with zero cloying sweetness; with full bodied creamy/silky/slick finish. Very smooth with very well restrained warming for the ABV. Zero booziness. Incredible stuff! My last bottle of this for now, I hope I can get more this year; but if not, no big deal. Plenty of other amazing beers out there.


Still tasting incredible! Flavors of huge tart/juicy raspberries with red grape, plum, apple, pepper, candi sugar, toasted bread, and light herbal hops. Nice balancing spicy yeast finish against the sweetness/tartness; with a lightly slick/syrupy mouthfeel with fairly crisp finish. I drank 2 cases of Rubaeus this year and this is essentially the Imperial version of it plus some additional spicy/fruity Belgian yeast complexity. Still a lot of bottles on the shelf around here in select places, will definitely be clearing some more out for future enjoyment.

Just want to say yesterday's postings were outstanding.

On this Veteran's Day, we all should give a little extra thought to remembering and appreciating our service men and women who make selfless sacrifices so we can enjoy things like Beer Advocate. Veteran's Day reminds us that all gave some in service to others. No matter what rank or branch of service, all who wore and wear the uniform potentially put their lives on the line for others. Our veterans, current service members, public servants, and the families who support them deserve our utmost respect.
