Two pages left to go, and I cracked open one of my favorite local releases of the year.

This is Summit's first ever barleywine, and it's an english style, which is one of my favorite types of beers but is heavily underrepresented here in MN. Also, it's cold, wet, and windy, so I need the ABV. Cheers![IMG]

Always rooting for our boy TJ, I was happy and surprised he made the team. One of my all time favorites at the U of A, and we've had a few guys make the pros!

LNBA'S, I decided to pick up a new sloppy joes sauce when I came across this sweet and smoky packet by McCormick and with the sandwiches I'm having a tomato, onion, and cucumber salad and a half slab of ribs. Oh yeah, I'm drinking Heady Topper!!!! (gracias @2ellas)

It was my first time to see either of them and honestly I don't get out much. I am a huge The Sword fan, so I got out for that one. I guess you were lucky and got Kadavar on the bill as well (I'm so jealous, Kadavar left the tour end of oct. ) But I feel lucky to have seen All Them Witches seeing it was their last night on the bill. I really didn't get them until I saw them live, and now I am a huge fan.

Nice picture! Which are you going to have first, Abrasive or Bomb?

Now giving Death by Coconut a try! Big time coconut, chocolate, dark roasted malts. Some nuttiness in the flavor as well. The body is medium - which is fine being a porter - but it is a bit over carbonated for my liking.

Overall though, an enjoyable and extremely drinkable adjuncted porter. Of course, I am a big coconut guy, so that helps!

I definitely did! I was debating a beer tonight, but obviously needed to have this as fresh as possible :grinning:

Just a few weeks prior, I also got to see Pallbearer on the same bill as High on Fire, and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats several days later. That was a good month for shows!

    Finishers:

My go to fall gose, wish this was available all year. Juicy blood orange and balanced tart lemon/lime fruitiness and light-moderate salinity/spice/acidity on the finish; with light wheat/crackery malts. Balanced sweet/tart finish. Super crisp and drinkable. Down to the last of the six pack, will buy another to hold me over until the Victory Kirsch Gose comes around next spring. One of my top favorites there.

Always excellent session IPL. Big hop flavors of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, guava, citrus rind, and pine; with some very light honey/bready malt presence and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Very crisp/sticky/resinous/dry hop finish. Very drinkable with zero hop astringency despite the strong bitter finish. Always enjoyed this one since it's first release.

Incredible as always. Big bright hop flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/bready malt balance; and a great sticky/resin dry bitter finish with slight creaminess in the mouthfeel. Definitely one of the best of the season, same with Victory and Lagunitas. Still have multiples of all three to clear out soon. T-day weekend will definitely have a few for sure. I usually do cellar clearing on holidays with no reviewing, but I may change that this year. We'll see.

    Cheers
