    Agreed, brown ales don't do a lot for me either and do need quite a bit of help with some type of adjuncts to emphasize their flavors. Maduro is one of the better brown ales I have had.

    Years ago my dad took me to the New York State fair. He was pitching pennies at one of the gambling tables and winning big. He won a bunch of these glasses and little desert bowls. They depict the dialogues by Plato. He also won a lot of other glasses. Cases actually. They closed that stand after he had won so much and he was really mad about that. They also would not let him play or win ( that was what he noticed anyway) at any of the other tables in the immediate vicinity. He never got over that. Funny what makes a story you tell over and over.

    Turkey stuffed and in oven 2 /12 hours now. Green bean casserole out of oven and resting. Stripping neck for giblets gravy. Time for a beer break:

    I have been looking forward to the return of this beer. Spicy peppers and chocolate; yum, yum!

    My older cousin gave me a box of photos this past week end after his dad's funeral. Photo is from Thanksgiving 1962, yours truly on the right...check out the melon on my little brother!
