Let's cook today! ( This means you LNBA) I have another chili to make. Black beans and chickpeas. No meat per request! What a good day. It snowed, I grabbed the last sixer of resin at the store AND they now have Hofbrau Original. Cheers!

So yesterday I went to a liquor store in my area with a pretty decent craft beer selection. I decided to pick up one of my standby beers, Founders Breakfast Stout. As I was walking through the store, the beer manager noticed me carrying the FBS and stopped me. I told him that this was my favorite "go to" stout. He then asked me if I've ever had Lavery Brewing's Ulster Breakfast Stout. I'd never even heard of this brewery, but he said this beer rivals FBS.

I believe this beer is just as good, if not better, than Founders Breakfast Stout. If anyone comes across this stout, get it. It's fantastic. Cheers BA's!

Really loving this beer! Hazy gold color with a thick foamy head. Tropical hops and some nice piney aromas. I'm tasting pineapple and mango on my palate, really nice mouth feel on this for a DIPA. A really balanced beer.

From late last night. Track 7 "Panic" IPA from Sacramento, CA. One of the best local IPAs in Sac. They should be getting better/more distribution soon. They are now caning 3 different beers with the recent expansion at the 2nd Brewery location.

Also some more Guns. Deep cut off UYL 1. Under rated track.

time-cheat (lazy) from last night: Bristol Winter Warlock (a stout), Compass IPA -- both drinkable, then a NB Accumulation Ale (white IPA, not my style), and to salvage the evening and celebrate the Denver win, ODELL IPA. Word. Mornin' all...

The cold's setting in up here, but I've found something to keep me warm. Affordable & tasty. I can sip on these beans all day.

I know everyone is going back to work today and to be perfectly honest, I am a little jealous. Only a little! If I could find another work from home job, I'd be in Heaven; as I am sure most of us would be!

Finishing this one right now, thanks to @ions
    [IMG]

    Paired it with my lunch
    [IMG]

Took me a little longer to make than I thought it would, but well worth it in the end! Chickpeas, pasta, smoked ham, shrimp, mushrooms and peppers = delicious and enough left over for lunch tomorrow too!

Of course I have to post the song!

    Cheers!!

As always the Yakima was delicious and now I'm on to another Le Castor Brew, L'eclipse, this is their black IPA and man is it good, There are strong underlying roast coffee and dark chocolate flavors but at the forfront are some leafy earthy hops. Cheers![IMG]

Black Bean Chili with Chickpeas and Peppers.

This is an onion and some red and yellow pepper sauteed in that list of stuff. Top with scallion and avocado. It's spicy and hot but smooth and really good with one can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of chickpeas with some of their liquor and 1 can can of black beans with some of their liquor, some frozen corn at the last minute and some chicken broth. Oh ! You do not miss the meat in this spicy chili! Bright and hearty. Cheers!

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

These are spiced nuts to go with my chili for desert. I switched from the pils to hfobrau original and these are with some of brown sugar, lime, chili powder, cayenne and cinnamon.

Jr is taking advantage of the extra day of break (and his little sister's nap) to watch Minions with Dad, who's taking advantage of having at least one more year old 2XMas. I like this one with some age on it.

If you've seen the previews on the Minions DVD, you'll know why I'm posting the below song.

With the holiday decorations slowly being put away, I better start taking down these trees as well. It was nice to step outside, see the sun and some blue skies after a quick burst of lake effect snow earlier. The clouds rolled right back in shortly after I took the photo. :slight_frown:
