    Finishers:

Always awesome. Big flavors of tart/juicy raspberry, green apple, lemon, lime, pear, wheat, cracker, light white vinegar/funk, hay, straw, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate acidic tartness and light peppery yeast spice on the finish; with great all around robustness and complexity of the raspberry and Berliner flavors. Balanced acidity and wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Good malt/tartness balance with good acidic dryness after the finish. Last bottle for now, will probably pick up some more eventually. This one was still from the first few batches last year. Still holding up extremely well.

Great imperial amber ale! Big flavors of melon, orange, apple, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and light nutty malt flavors; with some moderate herbal/floral hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness; with a great balance against sweetness with no cloying flavors. Light-medium carb, medium-full bodied; nice sized bready malt creaminess and some silkiness in the mouthfeel. Great all around complexity of malt, honey, and earthy hop notes. This tastes very similar to Bells amber on the malts and earthy hop notes; with some added sweetness and tropical complexity from the star thistle honey. Glad I got the full pack initially, only have one or two left now. The only thing I don't like about Short's is that they have so many one-off beers that I end up really loving, and they will probably never see bottles again(but probably hit the pub taps rotation-ally). Wish I lived in Bellaire sometimes. That being said, there is enough variety that I never get bored either; and all of the popular favorites always return yearly. There are plenty of new ones for me to review this year as well.

Always fantastic. Huge flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and piney hops; with moderate malt sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted bready malts; with floral/grassy hop and yeasty earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness; with moderate hop stickiness and balanced creaminess in the mouthfeel. Around 5 months old on this bottle, and still has a good amount of hoppiness and bitterness. Light-moderate increasing sticky dryness. Age brings it into more of a barley wine character. Love it both ways. I still have a couple left, but there is still some lingering out on the shelf still too. Might get more, but as with most Lagunitas beers; I could also grab pretty much any other beer in the lineup and still be just as satisfied with my purchase.

    Cheers

LNBA-ers! Around 12 here in NOVA & honestly, as much as the Mango Magnifico was interesting - I decided it wasn't something that I needed 750ml of :-)
    On to this:

Don't feel bad, just think of it as a time to celebrate and give thanks for the day that has passed and to gird your spirit for the one to come...

...and a time to drink some freakin' beer!

    Need some dog love too!
He just came back from 3 1/2 weeks at doggie camp. Running and playing with other dogs all day. Spent today figuring out his new house and now he's spent.

I sampled Mango Magnifico on tap the other day. My thought was it was good but would be tough to get through a 750 in one sitting. I have one in the fridge now to try though.

It's very good. Nice to be away from the long hours and stress of DC. I'm sure I'll miss it eventually, but for now, I'm enjoying southern living.
