    Today is my birthday...half way to 90!! My wife took me to a local brewery, then Mark at CBX hit us up with some great stuff that came in (Prairie Birthday Bomb and ATG Citra Ass Down tallboys), and now I'm splitting a 2015 Westbrook Mexican Coffee Cake (gold wax) to finish off the evening.     New beer Tuesday, Lindemans Framboise, 2.5% ABV, 12 IBU, Lambic Fruit style. Pours thick, deep burgundy color with 3 fingers of pink head, decent lacing. Nose is raspberry, taste is strong tart raspberry with some sweetness, no perceptible bitterness. Great mouthfeel. Overall an excellent beer and very odd in a number of ways; remove the foil, pop the cap off, then remove a cork, pours thick, pink head, low ABV, and an incredibly thick and heavy bottle. This is truly excellent! Some may think it would be like a wine cooler, but it is thick, tart and sweet, and not artificial tasting. Going on my favorites list. Can't help expecting more alcohol, but at least the alcohol doesn't infringe on the raspberry taste.

    Good dreary afternoon, all! We just started getting Odell products here, and this is my first one from this brewery: Tree Shaker Imperial Peach Ale. There is a hint of peach on the nose, palate, and finish, but it takes a back seat to the malt sweetness and the piney hops. Clean finish with no unpleasant notes lingering on the palate. Very well balanced and easy drinking, an outstanding beer. Welcome to the Cedar Valley, Odell!
