    Good midpoint morning, advocates. I've often found myself disappointed by this guy's beers, but this one is good. It's a Belgian abbey ale with coffee aged in bourbon barrels, although I'm not getting much coffee as of yet. Maybe as it warms up.

    On this day in 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted. Even as a seven-year-old, I knew what a big news story that was. Also on that day, Ian Curtis took his own life, a tragic death that came much too soon.

    On a happier note, it's Wreckless Eric's birthday as well.

    Good morning BAs! Looks like another beautiful day here in MI as we head into the UP. Gotta pick up some Deep Woods Off or at least carry some chains so the mosquitoes don't carry us away. Today's new beer for breakfast:

    @BEERMILER12 and I started our days on the same side of the bed or the same wavelength or something. Honestly as good as this beer is (I'm trying it for the first time) it's perking me up better than the real thing.

    Wasn't a big fan of Scotty Karate when I had it a few months ago for the first time, but this is barrel aged... that makes almost anything better! The bourbon barrel adds much needed character to a relatively "bleh" scotch ale. Nicely done, Dark Horse!
