    Another beautifulish day at the beach. And it's not that the hotel doesn't have coffee yet, it's that they make awful coffee and it's three bucks. This beer was maybe thirteen? I'll find better coffee later--this beer's a good post run substitute.

    Not much to say today, just got home from work and I'm starting the day off with a tart belgian blonde that as funky as she can be I still love in all her macro owned glory. Sofie! Cheers!

    Goose Island India Pale Ale

    Appearance: Light gold with white cap and good lacing.

    Aroma: Citrus hops and malt, the malt really comes through. I don't get honeyed sweetness but get that impression.

    Taste: Rather full with hops of course, but the malt presence is definitely felt. Hops override but malt is there. Clean, hop influenced finish and slightly bitter hop aftertaste.

    Texture: Moderately full with enough richness to be interesting.

    Overall: Nice beer, hoppy enough, malty enough, enough of both to be pleasing yet I get the sense of a middle of the road IPA without flaws designed for wide appeal. Nothing to jump around about but certainly not one to pass on either.
