    Happy Sunday BA Land!

I'm going to start with a small share from Thursday. My buddy Mark came over to get some beers I had for him. I thought it would be a good time to share a recent BIF beer. A little Willoughby Crowler goodness courtesy of @RayOhioFelton.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! It’s supposed to rain later today, but I am hoping to maybe get out to Pontiac Lake for a couple laps of mountain biking. Beers this morning:

Great American stout as always. Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, and light smoke/charred maltiness; with some herbal/spicy hops and hints of dark fruits. Bittersweet balanced finish; with a creamy/silky medium bodied mouthfeel; with some light hop/roast malt stickiness. Highly complex and always delicious. Actually no lactose is present in this beer, they use a 10 variety malt bill to get a similar effect in mouthfeel and flavor. Wouldn’t mind if this was year round, but at least it does stay on the shelf for a while.

Incredible DIPA. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with light honey/bready malt balance; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind bitterness; with a smooth, crisp, and sticky/resinous mouthfeel. I actually prefer this over the 1.0 Ruination. This isn’t as brutally aggressive as the original on bitterness, but it still has plenty and is more drinkable overall; with better hop complexity.

Top tier amazing saison. Flavors of lemon zest, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, peach, orange peel, pepper, and clove; with moderate wheat, cracker, bready malt; with floral/grassy hop and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spice and grassy bitterness; smooth/crisp finish; with some wheat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Medium-high carbonation and nice dryness. Glad to have this as a go-to saison now. I'd put this right up with Ommegang Hennepin. Glad I revisited it after it hit the state; because my original review was not nearly as high as I feel about it now.

Checking out the new EMJ cans. Tasting insane as usual! Flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, fudge, toasted dark bread, licorice, raisin, plum, tobacco, smoke, and light char; with moderate herbal/spicy hops. Bitter roast/char and earthy hop finish; with a fantastic full body creamy/silky mouthfeel with some light sticky/chalky notes from the hops and roast malt. A bit on the hoppy side for my preference right now, but it is really fresh. Age will make it even better. I feel that the quality is the same as the bomber versions that are brewed at Westbrook, so I am happy about that. Better price and just as amazing!

Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge. A bit more acidic than I was expecting but incredibly flavorful and enjoyable, especially if paired with the right food.
