Allllllllright. It's early, I didn't get much rest, but it's Hump Day, and I'm ready to start it off proper! It's time for the Glass of the Day Award! I know you can't hold your containment any longer, so here it is:
GotD goes to: @Buck89 for one of the most amazing pilsner glasses I have ever seen. A Weihenstephaner at that, only makes it better. Special props to @cjgiant for calling me out clean. Cheers and congrats!
2nd: @SovereignGood for the Fundemantal Obsevation tub chalice (things got some girth!)
3rd: @drh88 for that IPA/Tulip hybrid glass...with a LOBSTER! C'mon! It's got a lobster on it!
Honorable Mentions go out to @dcotom for that hand painted tulip, and a long overdue mention to another comforting regular here, @utopiajane for the Victory glass we have all fondly grown accustomed to.

Took the boy to see Finding Dory last night. When we got out I realized I had my own fish entertainment in the fridge waiting for me in the morning. Now that everyone is gone.... Cheers!

They make some great beers. Definitely worth trying. I wish you well in finding one.

Finished cleaning out the garage, now just sitting with a heating pad on my back and washed down two Alleve with Jai Alai. Cheers!

 

This is actually from yesterday, I had been away on the mainland for 2 weeks on business, needed a few hours and a couple beers at the beach. COAST 32/50, definitely my favorite Kolsch, haven't had any better


So while I was on the mainland, I got to go back home a visit for a couple days, which isn't nearly enough time, but I wasn't going to complain about getting to go back. Got to enjoy some great beers while I was there too, just in time for Mexican Cake!


Westbrook uses a hop torpedo now, I love their IPA's fresher flavor now. Can was a couple days old.


Revelry Brewing's Achtung! Drive by Fruiting with Peaches was amazing. It was like straight peach juice with a nice little tart finish. They've gotten a lot better since I was last there.


Went by one of my favorites, Holy City brewing. They always seem to have something barrel aged on tap, this is their Bordeaux BA Quintuple, so good. I'm not really a big fan of some American takes on Belgians, the seems a bit too overly sweet for me. This was done very well. Oh yeah, 14.5% and smooth as a baby's ass.


A couple shots around town before I left for Fresno, the third leg of my trip



In Fresno, Tioga-Sequoia Brewing is doing some great stuff. That's good, because I couldn't find much else to do around Fresno itself. This was their Rush Hour Coffee Stout brewed with local coffee.


This was their BA Midnight Lightning, also a solid one. Brought back one of the last bottles they had of the BA Mocha Midnight Lightning.


Far outside Fresno, there was some beautiful sights


There was much more beer and scenery enjoyed, but these were the highlights, and I'm reaching the picture limit in posts.

One of my all time favorites! Especially on a hot summer day

 

This beer is great! Citrus and tropical fruit. Definitely in that "juicy" category.



This must be one of those "Virginia Haze" beers that I am hearing so much about.
