It's Friday, with a weekend off, Ready for some golf.
This BP Barmy is an interesting beer. A golden ale with apricot and honey, with a seemingly insane 12% ABV.

 

Oh hell no, they're back and still out there. I had this one ready to go and then I had happier thoughts, but since you said something I'll just put it out there...

Decided to grab one while I could. Bottled on 6/36/2016 - so that's what (... 3, 4, thumb,...) July 6th-ish?

Hmmm - maybe it's my palate tonight. This offering seems a little more smoothed out than the more raw, old school West Coast IPA I recall. Still a little cold, though, already a little warmth is bringing out some fruity notes.

Edit: after getting through most of it, definitely a decent beer, but I do feel it's been "modernized" like Starr Hill's Northern Lights. I stand by my "smoother" impression, but a nice beer still for being widely available to the masses.

Wow, nice to know you grabbed one for me when you had an alternate means of disposing them. I let the GF have the old IPAs (she doesn't mind them - still finds them better than other styles in many cases, though she likes them fresher).

Totally agree with you on the assessment - won't have trouble finishing the sixer, but won't grab another... unless it is my palate tonight.

 

I rarely post here anymore, but this beer is so good and has so much quality needed to post.

 

FITGER'S BREWHOUSE - Blood Orange IPA

 

I'm blessed to live on the Fairfax/Chantilly line about a mile from the Total Wine in Greenbriar.

 

All squeaky clean now, or at least as clean as I get . Won't have to do that for another 6 months. Drinking this nice blonde Ale that tastes nothing like a blonde ale while contemplating the nawing burning sensation in my right side.
