Really digging this one, solid American Pale Ale!

Matilda by Goose Island (Chicago, Illinois)

Artwork: A very simple and classy white label with the beer's name on it. Love it.

Appearance: Dark amber. Big head with reasonable retention and lovely lacing. Unintentionally I poured the yeast in (you can see the brown marks left on the head in my photo) which introduced some haziness.

Nose: Very spicy on the nose. Smells sweet.

Taste: Lots of spice, Belgian yeast, and some dark fruits. Rather sweet. Very nice and rich.

Mouthfeel: Lots of carbonation bite. Medium body.

Overall: This is a great beer. I'm not sure how much I could drink in one sitting (because of its richness) but then again this was not designed to be a session beer. Would definitely buy again if given the chance.

first time drinking this. Oh boy is it nice... REALLY NICE AFTER WORKING 9 DAYS STRAIGHT.

In the shade taking a refreshment break from mowing. It's growing faster than it did in the spring and I'm really starting to miss the two month drought we had.

 

Easing into lunch with another Ice Harbor IPA.

Probably should look into getting an IH glass celebrating this beer instead of their stout, which I haven't had in several years, whereas I rarely visit the Tri-Cities without at least having a pint of this. However, next time I'm there it's gonna be all about the Fresh Hop beers.

Perhaps it is just me but you made it seem as if you had gone through a 9 day dryspell before your current post. I certainly hope that is not the case.
