Me too, 'cause I have to live it 6-7 mo/yr.Give me heat! But...... those southern boys in Philly,NYC,Richmond,Raleigh, etc, are hot , so maybe if we can get 'em to stop begging for cool/cold weather, it won't come.

 

Just got home from a mini vacation to western MA for an industry party. Everyone brought their "A" Game food AND beer. No names, but one fine lady treated us all with authentic Belgian waffles Sunday morning. Unbelievably tasty when dunked into some of the morning offerings, such as 2012 BCBCS, Twilight of the Idols, and Trois Mousquetaqires Porter Baltique Aged in Bourbon and Brandy Barrels. So, so many standouts like Batch 3 RR Consecration and Batch #037 Ithaca Brute. Dozens and dozens more...

...oh, this ain't bad!

 

Obsidian Stout by Deschutes (Bend, Oregon)

Artwork: That's one fantastic label. Great artwork and fairly fitting for a beer of this caliber. A true classic.

Appearance: Ink black, viscous-looking and with a huge tan head.

Nose: Lots of coffee upfront, strong roastiness too. Burnt bread and some dark fruit.

Taste: Fairly bitter. You can taste some coffee and some burnt starch.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied and with carbonation that bites. Interesting combo.

Overall: A very nice Stout. I perhaps drank it a little colder than I should have so I may have missed some of its true complexity.
