Good morning BA's! This beauty was from last night...

This used to be one of my least favorite (I use that term loosely) Tree House beer, but now it grows on me with every glass/can. Cheers!

Oh, and more drum ****

The Calling IPA from Boulevard Brewing. I was pleasantly surprised to find it in a Dutch supermarket. The high Alc. of 8,5% can be a bit tricky when you're having an refreshing IPA
    Cheers all!

Well I'm back. Make hay (read drink beer) while the sun shines.
Up next is this awesome revival of Vienna Lager by Von Trapp.
I find this to be a great fall lager. There is something about amber malty beer that hits the right notes for me.
    Cheers!

pairing with simple fried egg. What a difference it makes when the egg is free range and local, cooked in some Kate's butter from Old Orchard Beach, Euro threesome with some grated Dutch smoked Gouda and French Brie and Tuscan herbs. Not to mention home grown tomatoes and garlic.

    Score 4.14
    look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

Appearance of shimmering medium amber gold with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma is made up of rich caramel malt marching forth with hops singing in the background.

Flavor is rich, rounded and a bit voluptuous yet somehow restrained. Like the St. Pauli Girl, it shows just enough. A pleasant toffeeish malt taste first and building on that is a feeling as if the taste is expanding outward, yet staying on the same path. Hops join in the fun just before mid palate then grow along with the larger flavor to the end. Finish is clean with a receding richness in the aftertaste that fades quickly leaving absolutely no bitterness in it's wake.

    Texture is medium and silky.

Overall this one needs no tinkering, it's just fine, leave it alone. Well rounded, old school, gold medal category everyday ale. Complex enough for comment, approachable for drinkers of any level and adaptable to any occasion that calls for a beer. Just darn good stuff.

Finding this at the store after my morning run was a very pleasant surprise. It's nice to see our normally inadequate distribution chain finally pick up something worthy. This should hold me over until Backwoods comes out. Time for a foam rolling session with my beer!

Have I mentioned before that it's bok-beer season around here
Not my most favorite style, but I like a taste of most of them that are available during October and November.
This one from De Prael Brewery in Amsterdam is nice. Not too sweet, some bitter taste as well an nicely warming without being boozy.
    Cheers!

From before the sun was up, worked late last night....

Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale. What an odd head on that beer.

This was from the second pour of a glass half full. It looks like mash potatoes and as fluffy as a nitro beer. Pretty cool.

    Cheers.

Happy Thursday! Real quick: Freaky Friday tomorrow, so awake the scary stuff from the graves (your cabinets) BA's, and THE FINAL Stein Club Sunday this weekend, so lets make some noise!!! Continuing with the theme of reflection, the Staff will bring three more beautiful and proper works of art for today's ceremonies. But first, I'd like to give a couple shout outs: to @dee4maine for what would have been a top contender if it weren't for how God awful blurry your MBC post was :stuck_out_tongue:, to @Greywulfken for some stellar #ShamelessPandering for what is definitely a fine Weisse glass, and to @beergorrilla who took the beer-a-mid to greater heights :grimacing:! Alright enough silliness Lingenbrau, get on with it!!! Time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:
For the first ever "Westmalle Wednesday" post, to @911CROFT for...well...a perfect Westmalle post of course! Cheers and congrats on your first GotD, and see ya soon for SCS!
2nd: Who was I kidding. @Prager62 , your backyard, front yard, whatever it is, may not be the majestic Rockies, but it's still a familiar and comforting, beautiful backdrop. Nice Odell pick ups!
3rd: For a properly perfect Holy Mountain (which I'm still trying to get my hands on :sunglasses: ) post, welcome to the winners circle for the first time @Raj !

Honorable mentions go out to @Beer-Panda for a nice Hertog Jan post, and welcome back @PuppyClawz and thanks for bringing out the giant mug!
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!

    GotD.
