Loving the weather today in northern California, enjoying a 2016 Narwhal to fit in with the rain. Cheers

I thought this was going to be Bell Bottom Blues. My honest opinion, I like that song a little better than this one. Cheers and have a good night sir.

[IMG] A family member died tonight, he was my wife's great grandfather and 86 was pretty damn good. Really a great man, but a bit of a Curmudgeon. After my wife and I had kids, he was a different man. So willing to do anything to make them laugh and smile. Explaining death to 3 kids 7,6, and 4, was heart breaking to get them to understand will never see him again, until you see him in heaven many many years from now. The 2 older ones crying, sad night. In Norm's honor.

I just got the one bottle or else I'd hook you up. I have some other Transient juice though.

It's all good, next time I get cans or bottle from Tired Hands I will let you know, I would be very happy with any Transient!

Local brewery started canning an English mild - which was very exciting until I saw the price tag - $11 for a 4-pack of 16 oz cans. I'm giving it a shot but it won't be a regular at that price. I miss Brawler ...

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Monday. Pretty cold day out there today, but glad I can finally open the windows at night. Sleep feels much more comfortable when it is a bit colder IMO.

    Daily Reviews:

Nice IPA. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel malt; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced grainy Munich malt creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; slight resin. Increasingly drying finish. Really refreshing for an IPA! Not as aggressive as most; but has a really nice hop flavor balance of Cascade/Willamette; with a nicely complex malt backbone with the Munich malts. Liked this a lot more than I expected. Would be a good "entry level" for the style. Very pleasant and well balanced. 3.68

Another To Ol Berliner. Fantastic! Amazing head retention and dense lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear, apple, passion fruit, mango, melon, lychee, guava, citrus zest, and light pepper/lacto funk; with moderate wheat, cracker, light honeyed malts. Moderate tartness and light peppery yeast spice on the finish, Light-medium bodied; balanced acidity and grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. A touch tannic from the fruit. Moderately crisp and dry. Never astringent or puckering on sourness. Insanely drinkable with the balanced acidity; and very flavorful for 4.5%. I wish these cans weren't so pricey, I'd be buying them more often. Especially the Sur sour pale ales. Been loving everything from this brewery so far. 4.28

Incredible DIPA!! Aroma and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/toffee malts; with floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness. Medium-full bodied; balanced sticky hop resins and malt creaminess in the mouthfeel; a touch slick/syrupy, but amazingly balanced and smooth. Never astringent. Increasing resinous dryness. Explosive amounts of juiciness, in combination with fruity English yeast character. This really hits the mark as a perfect blend between American and English styles. All American on the hops, and English on the malts; or at least what it seems for me. 4.37

The day is winding down. Younger family members heading home with babies and/or children in tow. Older grand and great grand parents off to bed...nightcap?

That's too bad. I just went to a visitation the other night for a lady we knew that made it to 94. You tell yourself it's a celebration of life and all that, but those things are still never easy. My condolences to you and your family.
