Following up on yesterday's WBAYDN submission with another from Modern Times--this one apropos for Halloween Eve. That rain is forecasted throughout the day, I'm might just hunker down, watch movies and drink a bunch of beers. Starting with this guy:

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Finally got my Mosaic/Citra saison kegged yesterday, and it tastes amazing. Belle Saison yeast was crazy and took it down to 1.005 and 92% apparent attenuation. Need to make another beer soon, still have another empty keg left; Likely next weekend or during the following week. With Election day and Veterans day in the same week, I have 2 additional days off work. Should do something productive :grinning:

    Beer this morning:

Amazing batch this year! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with some light honey/biscuity malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, balanced grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; lightly resinous and never astringent. Increasingly drying finish. Super juicy stuff. Made sure to grab a second 4 pack last week.

Fresh batch, this is just as mind blowing as last year’s! Flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roast coffee, hazelnut, caramel, toffee, fudge, toasted biscuit, vanilla, cream, bourbon, oak, and light smoke/charred malt. Moderate roast/char bitterness and light bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Full-ish bodied with an awesome balanced creamy/silky and sticky/chalky roasted mouthfeel. Light-moderate roast/oak dryness. Lightly warming finish. Definitely absolutely enormous on the hazelnut flavoring, but its not overpowering at all. Tons of coffee/malt/barrel presence to compensate for that. Amazing complexity.

Tasting insane right now! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, licorice, raisin, tobacco, and light smoke/charred malt; with some light herbal/piney hops. Bittersweet roast balanced finish; amazing creamy/silky/slick and lush dense full body. I keep ended up finding more of these on the shelf around here(this week even), so I still have plenty left. I can only hope they bring this beer back in one form or another. This does have a lot of similarities to Expedition in flavors; but it has more of a sweeter and less drying roast/char finish. Lightly warming finish, but very smooth. Getting even more intense on the licorice/dark fruit complexity after 14 months since release.

More free beer! My store friend gifted me this last week, fresh batch bottled in August. Awesome stuff! This is the same beer as their DC Brau collab porter from previous years. Flavors of big chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, vanilla, and toasted dark bread; with some herbal hops. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; nicely creamy and lightly slick/sticky/chalky in the mouthfeel from roast/spice notes. Lightly drying. Still love this just as much as I remember a few years ago when I last had it. Just roasty enough to feel like a porter; but not enough to overpower the pumpkin and spice flavors. Really well done brew, great balance.

    Cheers

This album turns 10 next year, still one of the best Prog Metal albums ever made. All the following albums are amazing as well, but I feel this is still the overall best from their discography. They never disappoint ever. Still have another 2 year wait for the next one, if they keep their current release trend.

Watershed is the most underrated album of all time. This song always gets me hyped up, since the first half is soft and the second half is pure brutal insanity. Love the drumming on this song.

This morning I was thinking: KBS, since I'll be getting some more this week? Sunday Morning Stout that a generous WBAYDN regular sent me?
And then I remembered the result of last night's World Series game and realized I needed the beer equivalent of a warm hug from an old friend.
