Beer #2. Picked up the latest Tröegs Anthology pack. It's quite a doozy.

Starting with the chocolate stout. It's one of the best beers Tröegs has produced. I'll take this over Mad (Expensive) Elf any day.

Now I'm feeling regret for not catching No. 1, 2 & 3! This thing is delicious!

This stuff is the real deal. I applaud Lagunitas for their price point on it as well...a refreshing change!!

    I love this one....

While I don't totally dislike this version, it's very different and definitely not one of my favorites in recent memory. I'll take the tropical juice over the onion patch! I guess part of the charm with this beer is the nuances between batches? Until next time......

Ten or so years ago, when I was a penniless student living in the UK, I used to drink quite a lot of San Miguel beer (albeit the Spanish variant and not the Phillipine one) because 1) it was cheap, 2) living in the UK I was used to consume foods/drinks that had no flavor whatsoever, and 3) because I knew jack about beer. When I left the UK in the late 2000s, I pretty much forgot about the existence of San Miguel until I saw this at a store in NJ the other day. I was drawn to it by the funky 70's Eastern European look of its label. It's brewed in the Philippines and it's labeled as a "Pale Pilsner" (the word "Pale" seems a bit redundant but anyway). While its appearance was impressive (huge head and lovely color), the nose and taste were overly sweet and screamed of adjuncts. A nice beer to have chilled and with some spicy food but that's about it.

Beer #4. Not a Christmas beer per se, but it always reminds me of the holidays.
