Good morning BA, have a great Monday! Today is my last day of holiday time off, since the 1st was on a Sunday. Last day to relax until things get start getting busy at work again. Should take a few days to fully get rolling again, though.

Great American brown ale as usual. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and toffee; with lighter chocolate, cocoa, and nutty malts; and some light herbal, grassy, peppery, citrusy hops. Touch of dark fruit. Light herbal/spicy bitterness. Medium bodied with a really nice creamy/bready mouthfeel; light hop/roast stickiness, and a bit of increasing dryness. Touch silky. Really great malt complexity and mouthfeel; and not as hoppy or drying as I remember past years. Great balance. I had to revisit this review a month or so ago. Definitely my go-to fall brown now.

Still tasting great! Flavors of grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey, wheat, bready malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced grainy malt and sticky/resins in the mouthfeel. Crisp/dry finish, and never astringent on bitterness. Awesome juicy hop profile, and refreshingly drinkable. Mosaic and Equinox hops are my favorite of all time. I am finally starting to feel this one significantly drop off, but I still really enjoy it. Just tastes a bit more piney/weedy than when it was fresh. Got a few more to finish off, probably will grab some Citrusinensis soon.

One of my favorite milk stouts, glad it's back in season. Big flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, strawberry, cream, caramel, toast, light coffee, and light herbal/floral hops. Balanced bittersweet roast and earthy hop finish. Great creamy/silky medium bodied mouthfeel; slight touch of drying chalky roast and hop stickiness. Very smooth and delicious. Has a lot of great ice cream-like flavors. The barrel aged version enhances the ice cream vibe of this beer, but the base beer is still completely awesome; and a far better price. Hope they release the barrel aged version again though.

2016 is tasting insane! Hope this is a yearly release now. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, fudge, spicy rye, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, pecan nuttiness, licorice, raisin, fig, and light smoke/char. Moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Full bodied creamy/silky and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing roast/char dryness. This is a flat out amazing beer for the price. For being partial barrel aged, there is still plenty of barrel character going on. Huge malt complexity, in combination with pecans and fruity yeast esters. Dangerously smooth sipping for 13%. Mildly warming and minimal booze on the finish. I definitely should buy more than 1 bomber this year. This and the 2015 version are definitely better than the original 2013 they had released, in overall complexity and barrel presence.

Took a beer day off yesterday so all the Bourbon County I had New Year's Eve could leave my system. But since I'm up already this morning, might as well have breakfast.

Good morning, BAs! I decided I wanted a Tripel with lunch, but sadly discovered I only had one on hand: Sierra Nevada Ovila Abbey Tripel.

This was...not my favorite when it came out. Age has not hurt it, I would say (this is almost certainly a bottle from the same pack I bought more than two years ago), but it hasn't changed my opinion of it, either. Decent beer, enjoyable, but nothing special.

Still an OK lunch accompaniment.

    Cheers!

One more day of debauchery before getting back to the routine. With a bottle date of 02/11/16 a fresh batch should be rolling off the line soon. I'll enjoy my remaining oldies until the time comes. Time to start disassembling the Christmas decorations this week. It's always more fun putting them up then taking them down. Cheers gang!
