    Which have you tried? Of the "session" IPAs I've tried, I've rated Central Waters Hop Rise Session Ale the best (but I haven't tried that many).

    The ice out back is too thin from the warm weather to skate on, so I'll settle for another beer and the Winter Classic instead. I'm hoping the Blackhawks outdoor record improves today!

    Happy Monday ba. All these three day weekends sure are nice for drinking beers. Starting with what I had planned to be my beer for the NBS thread but just wasn't up for it last night. This is 70 west ipa, from Crooked Ladder brewing and it's their first bottle release. A nice presentation with a bottle date of 12/14/16 but the brew just isn't very good at all. A real mixed mess of hops and malts that really drinks more like a hoppy amber.

    Kawaba Snow Weizen by Japan's Denen Plaza Kawaba Brewery

    Pours a very weird-looking shade of brownish-gray. Never seen a beer of this color before. Way more gray hues than any other beer I've ever had. Not much in the way of head or lacing. The nose is sweet with honey notes and some biscuit. The flavor is not particularly strong (it has the watery character or a Mild) and it's dominated by wheat-y and honey flavors. It doesn't feel like a weizenbock, even though it does have some overlapping elements.
