Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! I have a quite bit of work to do at home today, my job has been really busy this month. New pilot builds are in a few weeks for a new SUV that will launch next year. I need to drive down to the suppliers again next week, like I did yesterday. 5 AM weekdays are not awesome. At least I can pull some overtime from all of it.

Incredible American stout as always. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, and smoke/charred malt; with moderate herbal, pine, spicy hops; and some mild raisin, plum, licorice yeast fruitiness. Moderate pine and roast/charred bitter finish. Creamy, silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced medium-full body mouthfeel. Some nice increasing dryness from hops and roast/char character. One of my top classic favorites in the style along with Kalamazoo stout. I need to grab another 6 pack soon, this was the last one.

One of my favorite IPA's, haven't have this in a while. Flavors of bright and juicy grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some bready/light caramel malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/grassy bitterness; with a smooth/sticky mouthfeel, and some light balancing malt creaminess. Moderately dry and extremely drinkable; never astringent. This never gets old, always fantastic. Even with all of the crazy new hop varieties, I wil always love Centennial hops, and other classic varieties.

Incredible batch this year. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, and light char. Light roast/spice/charred bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly increasing dryness. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Made sure to grab 2 6 packs this year. Still a few out there on the shelf, so I might grab another to hold me over till next year.

Avery is killing off the Demons this year, so I am going to work on enjoying the last of my really old cellar gems soon. This is my last 2005 Beast. Tasting amazing! Flavors of huge raisin, prune, fig, date, cherry, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, honey, brown bread, molasses, leather, and tobacco; with light cinnamon, pepper, and licorice notes. Mild peppery spice against sweetness, no cloying. Super full bodied; creamy, slick, syrupy mouthfeel. Minimal carbonation, easy sipping; zero warming alcohol or booziness for 14.9%. Wow, this was fantastic. Super rich and complex on malt flavors. Tastes more like an Old ale/English barleywine at this point since the spicy Belgian yeast character is so subdued after 11-12 years. Will definitely be on the lookout for newer batches before they are all gone. Seriously love this one at it's current state. I reviewed the same vintage 4 years ago, but I am even more impressed now.

    Cheers

Morning BAs! My little buddy Rocky woke me up early enough to get in front of the Man Utd game so i'm enjoying our 2-0 lead and Rooney's record equalling goal with a Milkstachio.

This is beer 1 in the Monohop series by West Coast Bryggeri in Gothenburg. It's a DIPA single hopped with Equinox. The rest of the series is on deck!

How's that for an obscure beer @JamFuel ? Niigata Belgian Pale Ale Beer. The aroma reminds of canned peaches, with some very strong honey and spice notes. Taste is fairly malty, and you can also taste some peach sweetness followed by some mild bitterness.

A beer at this hour means I'm not leaving the house today. It's been a crazy week and a cold one to boot. We're enjoying a balmy +1 degree currently as I snap this shot, feed the birds and run inside to binge watch some shows. I hope your Saturday is just as productive!
