I finally cracked the Clown Shoes Hammer Of The Beast that I bought a few weeks ago, because I couldn't wait any longer. It is a fantastic beer. A bit thin on the mouthfeel, but it drinks very smoothly for being almost 12% abv. Tons of butterscotch, caramel, chocolate, coffee, fudge, toast, coconut and vanilla notes. I highly recommend it. Clown Shoes is one of the best and most underrated breweries I've ever encountered.

When I got out this morning to do some grocery shopping I was pleasantly surprised to see a new isle at my local store with a broad selection of craft beers. Finally! So I came home with this!

Fire rock pale ale, a "dark" pale ale, darker than I expected, with a good flavor of coffee, roasted malt and citrus. Smell floral and malt. Very light drinking and really great!

    Have a great day everyone!

Eh, me mentioning the lacking ''now'' yesterday made that today's OP wrote it capitalized.

Not drinking today, just saying hi and wishing yall a good day. Cheers!

I am eagerly looking forward to a day off after working the weekend and having two busy days in the office. Starting off with a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast stout. I think my wife and I will go see Split this afternoon.
    Cheers, all!

I bought a few of these back when it came out, and was a bit disappointed... But almost two years later - this has really improved. Glad that I've got one more in the basement...

Working 3rd shift this week. Stopped for groceries on the way in last night. A new label jumped out on the shelf. Jackie O's has a gose in bottle? Needless to say I was looking forward to getting off all morning so I could open this.

Red Hook IPA... meh. This beer has definitely a particularly strong and distinctive taste... not sure it's for me tough. It pours nicely with a clear white head, the smell it's quite malty but disappointing and so is the taste: the bitterness is too much.

It's a decent, easy-to-drink, beer. I wouldn't kill yourself to get it but definitely worth checking out.

Catching up from late last night, got to stop by one of my favorite local breweries (and one of BA's top new breweries) Beer Lab HI. They released a pale ale, brewed with saccharomyces, galaxy and citra hops. These guys continue to amaze. (look at that lacing in the glass!)

That was shortly followed by their Vog Punch. Hazy IPA choke with stonefruit characteristics. Another winner.

Last Sunday, went on a hike to Ka'ena Point. Not a hard hike, but pretty. Lots of wildlife, albatross, whales (in the ocean of course), and Hawaiian Monk Seals. I did climb up Puu Pueo, which overlooks the point and enjoyed a can of coldness.

A Rogue 7 Hop IPA. Only tasted their 4 hop IPA before in the US and Canada. This one is even better.
    Cheers!

This thread is a great way for documenting the beers you've had. Picture below is not now but some month's ago.
