Hasn't been a post in #1568 in over 2 hours and I just got back from a local brewery, may as well start #1569.
Stopped by one of Beer Advocates top new breweries of 2016, Beer Lab HI, tonight. They released a new brew in their Tart Saison line, this time with Peaches, called Sunova Peach. Think of the ripest/freshest peach you've had and put that smell/taste in a beer. This did a great job, not being overly sweet or fake tasting. These guys continue to amaze me.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! After yesterday's new beer haul I really don't have much to do today. Will probably check some work emails to make sure I am caught up for tomorrow. Still overloaded on projects like last month.

Awesome this year! Flavors of blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with some honey, cracker, bready malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/peppery bitterness on the finish; touch of fruit tartness. Medium bodied; crisp, sticky, resinous, and fairly grainy mouthfeel; touch of fruit acidity. Very drinkable with juicy hop/fruit flavors; a bit dank. Increasingly drying and never astringent. I am tempted to go buy a full 12 pack of this now. Seriously delicious.

Incredible as usual this year. Flavors of big juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey/bready malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; with an awesome balanced creamy/sticky/resinous medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, with zero lingering hop astringency. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly warming alcohol, but extremely easy drinking. Never disappoints. Another shipment hit the stores here last week, I might grab another pack while they are around.

Outstanding quad! Glad these are year round and 4 packs now. Flavors of raisin, plum, fig, date, lightly tart cherry, apple, pepper, clove, brown sugar, brown bread, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, bourbon, coconut, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/oak spice and light fruit tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied Creamy/grainy with slight slick/syrupy notes in the mouthfeel; but still ending nicely crisp and drying from carbonation. Awesome barrel balance, with great well rounded complexity from yeast and malts. Very smooth sipping, mildly warming 11.9%. Will definitely be buying a lot more of this in the future.

Always amazing, this is my favorite shelf BBA stout of all time. Just got a full 4 pack last week. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, molasses, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light licorice/raisin, and light smoke/char. Balanced bittersweet roast/char finish with some spicy bourbon/oak against sweetness. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied creamy/silky rich mouthfeel. Very smooth sipping with lightly warming alcohol. This and Wulver are always in my cellar stock now, despite the price. Worth it for me though.

    Cheers

Mrs. Z just announced that She has caught a/my head cold (I'm 98% recovered); looks like today may be a restful indoor kinda day...and thus may include a new beer or two! Have a great Super Bowl Sunday advocates!

i got one, it has been a challenge to get this - but I got it and boy did it live up to hype, citrus prominence was in back on length of sip, normally to me they hit right up front......this was a differentiator no doubt, shame I could only get one.

[IMG] A big thanks @jzeilinger for this very nice beer, cherry is involved but very mild, compared to the roasty expresso.

Happy Sunday, advocates of malt beverages

Picked up the (free) sailing canoe Saturday instead of today, which is fine with me! Took some pics of it and will be taking some measurements etc....it needs a new transom, some painting and varnishing, and a new sail....the old cotton sail is pretty tattered! But the price is right!

    Some beer with my coffee....

new thrift store glass and NASA mug from Saturday as well....

With this one and the free Alacrity 19 ft mini-cruiser, the fleet now stands at 6 sailboats.....holy boatshit!

With mahogany leeboards and rudder, and trim, and sitka spruce spars, I am digging this one a lot!

This will be a fun boat to tool around my lake this summer!
