Confession: Had a leftover Cumbre Malpais Stout, with some age on it, still fantastic. Then I added some of my pour-over coffee to it, even better. Awake and inspired. [There were some intense posts last night on the late-night WBAYDN...geez...]. CHEERS!

Seems like the perfect IPAs to match Florida's weather. It is 18c this afternoon here and I don't remember such a warm day for a mid February.

Wednesday, aka last day of vacation. I'm being lazy while my wife works.
More snow predicted for tonight into tomorrow. Here in southern Maine we don't have it as bad as my brethren up north. They've been hammered by a couple storms and are looking for at least another foot of the white stuff tonight.
I picked up a sampler 12 pack from Long Trail yesterday. I drank all the Double Bag and today I am enjoying Flyin Ryan IPA.

I would expect nothing less than you making your own caramel stuff. It looks delicious!

Weekend guest left some of this behind so lunch choice was a little lighter than usual . . .

    Score 3.36
    look: 2.5 | aroma: 3.25 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.5

Clear, ginger ale like appearance, large bubbles rising from glass base, minimal cap.

Clean, fresh slightly spicy aroma with a background of sweet yeast.

Taste is surprisingly good for a Light style lager, particularly in view of the fact some have so little. Entry gives the sense of a pleasant brew that doesn't present any challenges, rather an inviting offer to drink more. Little in the way of the light spiciness in the aroma (ginger ale is spicer) yet it's unmistakenly beer. If nothing else the 6% ABV reinforces that impression. The primary flavor I get is one of sweet bread with edges rounded off by carbonation. Hops are present in the aroma but not really noticeable in the body or aftertaste. Well, not to me anyway but I'm accustomed to stronger beers.

A bit past medium body. The grain bill accounts for that I suppose though it could be corn syrup for all I know.

Yes, this is lager writ small but lower case doesn't diminish it's pleasing aspects. Designed without bitterness for those who don't want that. I don't make rules for others and don't live by other's rules.

Having a Two Captains Nøgne Ø, an American Double / Imperial IPA. I like it very much, nice bitter after taste.
These Norwegian craft beers cost about an arm and a leg (because there is alcohol in it, and that is expensive here), but what I had till now was worth every Norsk Krone.
    Cheers!

Wow! There's a wall mounted bottle opener in the bathroom in this hotel, just next to the toilet! Most of the drinking is done in private, so I'm told. But this goes way beyond my imagination
