Not to defame Carton or kane but I do like other brewers more than the big 2. I wish people would try others because ive even seen people say "hey you have carton on growler, is it 077xx? No? Nevermind" while 077 is great theres more to nj than that one beet. Double Nickel just started canning. River horse is really stepping it up, I really like their saison that comes out early summer. Brotherton is keg only right now but their IPA'S are amazing.

Nope. We are going to the doctor today at 1:50. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets induced today, and we've planned accordingly. Having said that, he is my offspring and stubbornness of this caliber was expected and will most likely continue throughout his life :stuck_out_tongue:.

Exactly. All anybody ever talks about is Carton and Kane, and while they may be awesome at what they do, there are so many other great breweries that get cast under their shadow. I feel like NJ is really stepping up its craft beer game in general, which is awesome. My hometown in Ocean County is finally getting its first brewery this Spring (Frye Brewing) and I'm really excited to see what they can do.

Lakewood just had one opened called Icarus. Manahawkin is getting one in spring called Manaferkin. Ship bottom Brewing opened last summer on lbi instead of contracting in PA. Double Nickel canned 4 beers demented is canning now. Bolero Snort is getting the move on. Brewery opening in Absecon (rumor). Tuckahoe got picked up by Hunterdon (biggest nj distributor) brotherton opened (not to public) and are already gaining popularity in SJ on taps. Pinelands got picked up by Hunterdon also. Backwards Flag ( my former employer) celebrated a 1 year anniversary. Magnify been doing well. Carton is becoming more available down here, not just boat and 077 either. It's been a great year for NJ beer.

For all of you who are drinking Hop Juju (and that seems like damn near everybody except me), I'm drinking this and you're not: Linalool, from Pearl Street, LaCrosse, WI. This is quite interesting. It's brewed with Northern Discovery, a local wild hop variety. Bittering would seem to be the strong suit of this hop. The flavors are not overpowering, but there is some spruce-like resin on the finish and a little floral and citrusy aftertaste. Nicely balanced, with a substantial malt presence to showcase the bitter qualities of the hop without adding much sweetness. Color me impressed.

Ale Pacino Mocaccino by Triton Brewing Co. As soon as I popped the can open the smell of delicious delicious coffee hit my nose like a delightful perfume. The chocolate came when I stuck my nose in the glass.

This is a solid coffee stout. Very coffee forward on both aroma and taste, even the coffee bitterness lingers. Notes of chocolate and roast. Good brew and can't go wrong at $10.99 for a four, but I can't say it will be a fridge staple.

    Cheers BAs!
