Thanks again @Buck89, really tasty beer from Wiseacre, not overly sweet, and very clean coffee taste. Gotta Get Up To Get Down.

Hey BA's, you know what would be kind of fun? If someone here would acknowledge all the wonderful glassware this thread sees on a daily basis. You know, like some kind of award! Oh... I used to do that? Well, why the hell not bring it back!? That's right. Let's have a Glass of the Day Awards shall we? :grimacing:...! :grinning:

GotD: Well, might as well pick up right where I left off. A couple of winners from the most frequent of recipients starting with @BeerVikingSailor for this fine Michelob horn . Yes it has been acknowledged before, but never had the highest honors, so cheers and congrats my friend!
2nd: And of course, to @dcotom who used an arsenal of proper glassware as usual, along with some unique finds. But this fancy little cordial glass struck the Staff's attention .
3rd: Finally, out to @HopHunter19 for this nice honeycomed seidel tankard. We see plenty of krug's here, but not enough of these beauties!

Honorable mentions go out to @dcotom again, because I can't let a proper NA post go without award :stuck_out_tongue:, and to @RonaldTheriot for this little tub of a pokal number.
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon! (God, it feels good to be back in the Captain's chair :grinning:!)

    GotD.

Drinking this now. The FG sample from my home brewed ESB. Just finished bottling.

I knew I had to have this glass when I saw it. Falstaff was brewed in Ft. Wayne when I was a kid. My folks didn't drink and I was never able to secure a can before it went out of production. It's funny how you can be nostalgic about presumably bad beer that you didn't get the opportunity to drink. Cheers day drinkers

    Magic Hat Circus Boy. 4.5%

A little side by side here with.....
    Magic Hat Zirkus Boy. 4.5%

To my knowledge the idea of the 50/50 sixer is that these beers are identical with the exception that Circus Boy is an American yeast and Zirkus Boy is a German yeast.

The American is lighter and has less banana/clove flavors but carbonation is sharper.

The German is fuller body, more clove and is a heavier feeling beer.

And I like the zirkus boy better. Both were good. But there's my choice.

    Cheers.

    Score 3.74
    look: 3.5 | aroma: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Attractive light gold color with thick white cap and good lacing.

Brewer says the aroma carries subtle peach and passion fruit touches but both are slightly beyond my reach. I get more floral with hints of spice and something more vegetal than fruit.

Taste is simple, straight forward hops the same as I described above. Still don't get the peach but there is something rounded about the flavor that is passion fruit like so the official description isn't wrong. Like the Brewer says, it's subtle. Finish is clean and crisp without any residual bitterness in the aftertaste.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Seems to be a run lately to create session IPAs that are not so hop forward as to be off putting to those with an innate bitterness ceiling. This one falls into that category. It's almost light tasting (the malt certainly isn't assertive) and the hops are bright without being bitter. Fishing beer.

Knocking back another one of these to get Friday started... started to braise some short-ribs a short while ago. No photo yet, will try to remember to do so later (if I have a second) but it's gonna be a wine night with those ribs, so... here's to your weekends, and to our mutually-screwed brackets. Cheers!
