Glad I got my "saucer" boat in the water early...makes a great fishing platform....in stealth mode!
The Mrs' spring break starts tomorrow. Probably my last day on page one for a bit. Gonna get juiced.
Firestone Pale 31.. Me Gusta California, me Gustas tu...
Will need more context, give yourself away ... where you're at?
Good morning BAs! Nothing to post since I'm spending my days at UPMC Hamot with Mrs. Lizard. When I got home last night, I found an awesome box from @Dragginballs76 containing these brews:
Mostly new breweries for me and all new brews! Thanks man - you are a gentleman and a scholar. Expect retaliation.
I think the question should be: "Where y'at?" That's NOLA - my hometown.
I am thinking about diving into the pool, if I miss I'll land on a streetcar in Canal st., nothing out of the ordinary here by Bourbon st.
My adopted hometown!
Good morning you all! Cheers!
Looks like a tasty burger @utopiajane Cheers...
As for me.. death by coconut and this is pretty damn good!
I am in NOLA and the food is incredible, but that utopiajanewich looks awesome!
Overlooking the French Quarter.
ps-beer, is what's for breakfast!
Rothaus: Tannen Zäpfle.
Fast becoming my favourite German Pils.
Good morning, BAs! Headed for the south florida breweries today. Waiting for the lady to get ready while sipping on this weird concoction.
Orange seltzer water, give or take. 5% abv though, so that's ok.
Get out and drink on the street like you're supposed to !!
and hit up the OOpah Pah Doo for the ultimate local music scene - !
My kind of start. Only 9 more hours to go for me .
Good Morning BA
If you enjoy a well crafted pils, you need to try this!
Outstanding. Drink well Advocates
W on Canal?
I am living there vicariously with your posts. Thanks.
Got to love a Doppelbock in the morning! When in Germany right!
Lunch Sofie. This is a trend I can get behind.
I loved that beer!
Happy Thursday BA's! Hopefully The Staff and I can pull off another miracle tomorrow, as I'm taking the family up north again for the weekend . If only this job could translate to my real job! I could get used to working only two or three days a week . Alright, it's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!
GotD: We knew this guy was gonna be a threat as of the sketchy neighborhood purchases. And with that, cheers and congrats to your first GotD top honors @jkblr , for this wonderful Ettaler tankard! Sweet handle!
2nd: Let's welcome newcomer to the awards ceremony (and pretty new to the site as well), @Acinonyx , for what looks to me like a tall, skinny, elongated, and most importantly proper Old Nation nonic glass.
3rd: I'll refrain from mentioning how much use this next glass got yesterday, as its owner gets sensitive about such subjects , but congrats again to @SomethingClever for this Willoughby new school styled imperial pub glass. I We've been seeing this style a lot lately, and I love 'em.
Honorable mention goes out to @jhartley for this Germany Epcot willibecher because I've never seen Germany Epcot representation on this thread before, and I like it .
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!
8% alcohol. Certified Kosher.
Weihenstephaner Kristallweizenbock. It's a new release of one of the beers they used to produce till the (19)50's (now in a limited edition according to their website).
They also recycled the bottle label from those days.
Thanks to @Lingenbrau & the staff. Cheers!
This hits all my benchmarks for what an IPA should be. Massive Nelson punch at the start and finishes clean with Citra, ala my personal TG taproom fav concoction of SueZee. As it warms the Galaxy and Mosaic pull through for a different complexity! Top to bottom this is winner winner chicken dinner!! Get some if you can!
Maisel & Friends: Pale Ale
I'm calling this brunch.
Brewdog Electric India.
Lunch with a wallop . . .
Aroma of herbal, piney hops with some malt lurking in the background. Brewer says the aroma is fruity but I get herbal.
Taste is hop forward and lots of it. Heavy hop flavor just like the scent, herbal and resinous. Malt is in there but it seems like I feel it more than taste it. Same hop flavors to the finish and a degree of piney hop bitterness is present in the aftertaste.
Brewer calls it a liquid poem to the glory of the hop. I've never thought of hops as glorious but won't argue.
When new TG arrives at my doorstep I just can't help myself, scientific research purposes of course!!
It's got a hefty dose of sweetness to it but it's def one of the better Xhops, tried them all!
