Good Sunday morning! Surprised we aren't underway yet...Better than last year's? Yes!

    Cheers!

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Another normal day of bottle returns, laundry, and hoping to fully finish up what I need to present for work tomorrow. Shouldn't be too busy for me today. I woke up at 4:30 randomly.

Fantastic scotch ale! Flavors of big caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, and light nutty/chocolate/peat smoked malts; with some raisin, prune, plum, fig, cherry, and date yeast fruits. Touch of leather and butterscotch. Light herbal hop bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; creamy and fairly silky mouthfeel; lightly slick, sticky, chalky, and tannic from bourbon/oak and roast malts. Slight tannic dryness. Lightly warming 9.5%; zero barrel booze. Extremely impressive and well rounded on complexity all around. Not overdone/boozy on barrel notes. Great mouthfeel. Very smooth drinking. Glad I grabbed a 4 pack, will definitely grab more next release. There is a ton of the stout still on the shelf right now.

Last year's batch is tasting awesome! Just passed 1 year old in January. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, peat smoke, brown bread, nuttiness, toasted oak, vanilla, maple, raisin, fig, date, juniper berry, and pepper/clove yeast spice. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and spicy yeast finish; with an awesome balance of malt sweetness and yeast/oak character. Medium-full bodied creamy mouthfeel, a touch slick, syrupy, sticky, and tannic. Light spicy yeast/tannic oak dryness, never cloying. I hope they release this again next year. Still some on the shelf now too from last year, will grab again when I run low. Just bought more Olde School yesterday.

Absolutely insane coffee stout, glad these are in cans now. Flavors of huge nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, dark bread, and smoke; with some herbal/woody/spicy hops and light charcoal/dark fruits. Bittersweet balanced roast/char/hop finish. Full bodied creamy/silky/velvety mouthfeel; light chalky roast and sticky hops. Lightly increasing roast/char dryness. Super smooth, minimal warming 12%. Insanely complex and well balanced. Will definitely be enjoying this more often with the smaller format. World class beer. Looking forward to the day when everything is in cans, seems to be heading that way now. Increases every year.

5 years old, my last bottle from the Plum Market collab(local whole foods type store). This is basically just Bam Noire with plums in it, allegedly. This is tasting great! Flavors of tart green apple, cherry, plum, lemon, pear, toasted oak, brown bread, hay, straw, grass, clove, pepper, and musty funk; with light notes of caramel, cocoa, leather, vanilla, and vinegar. Balanced tart/spicy finish against a moderate amount of darker/bready malt notes. Smooth and crisp finish with a touch of lingering acidity. A slight improvement over the original review in 2013. Still pretty tame as far as Jolly Pumpkin beers go; but has a good mix of funk, fruit, and malt flavors with great balance. Getting more vanilla notes now from the oak aging than I remember. Only 4.5% and highly refreshing with the balanced tartness. I really need to revisit Bam Noire, but I haven't seen it in a while.

I am going to break my rule today of no IPA's with tomato sauce. It's not exactly tomato sauce and this IPA is not exactly English style . Cheers BA! Let's make it a Two Beer Sunday. Or maybe 3. it's that kind of Sunday. :stuck_out_tongue:
