Sorry to hear it. Unless my boss gets his act together I may be in the same boat in a month or two. Am applying for work elsewhere now, hope to land something soon, and jump off this sinking ship. 'Til then first beer will be a bit later in the day. Good luck landing something, def. lots more work out there than last time I was unemployed.

Yeah, I turned down work a couple months back because I was hoping to get better pay where I am once I passed CTS. Now my boss won't even pay for the exam, we lost a lot of business, and someone else took that other job. Nothing like a good ole Stone IPA though to put ya in a better mood. Cheers!

Sorry to hear about your layoff OP. I've had to let quite a few guys go over the past 3 yrs. I'm gonna try to bring a few back on this summer as work picks up.
Anyway back on topic - I have 3 KBS, a bunch of FBS and a bunch of ST 2x stout... Not sure which I want for breakfast :):):)
Will post a pic later when I decide!

Correct, go kbs. I might join you. I'm not exactly unemployed but have been riding on 19 hrs a week at bad pay since September with no places I ever applied to calling back. 4 days a week off actually really sucks. Maybe I'll have to join this thread with a kbs or sucks. Can't wait for Summer work, beach lifeguard.

    Devil's Backbone 8 Point IPA.

Just got home from work about an hour ago. Working nights, 7pm to 730am. I get my brew (or two) in at the morning hours watching Sportscenter.

Unemployment drinking is the best.. My year, the company I was with shut down after 13 years, leaving all of us out of work with no severance package. This is how my coworkers and I dealt with the sudden news:

This stuff is downright amazing. Probably the least consistent beer I've had batch-by-batch (flavor wise) but it's always delicious.

I've also moved on, now on to plead the 5th...so well balanced! I'm going to try to age one for a year, but I'm not sure if it could get any better.

    New beer , new glass

I'm really enjoying both of these. The glass is a 'can' shape which is awesome with the lip rim. The beer is a hopped up strong ale that is pretty intriguing. Cheers!

I always drink Maisel's Weiss Original Hefeweizen. However I got this page on facebook and I wanted to have some more material to add. So new rule is every time I go to buy my Maisels, I will replace one of whatever I would have bought with a new beer I have never tried before... Tonights new beer (which replaced the 6th half liter bottle of Maisels:) Kulmbacher Mönchshof Schwarzbier. This beer appears very dark when you look at it from an angle, but put it up to some light and you see that it a translucent. Has strong chocolate, caramel flavor to it and has a real smooth aftertaste that is almost coffee like. This is the first time in a long time that I have drank anything other than original hefeweizen, but I gotta say, I would buy this beer again:)

I had a little blackberry puree left over from adding 6 pounds of the stuff to my mead in secondary. So I put about a tablespoonful into this and I must say it's pretty tasty.

Sorry about your job situation. Been looking for work for 3 years now. Army Vet w/Grad degree here.

By FAR, my favorite NYC area beer: Sixpoint Resin Double IPA (103 IBUs)/9.3%ABV
insane nose, big sticky mouth, and so refreshing!

Love the tons of music videos posted, always associate music and beer together, good times.
