Summit Wit -- this is a new recipe from Summit Brewing and I'd say it's a great summertime offering. Well balanced and approachable, but not truly "average."

Light lemon yellow color with creamy white cap.

In the aroma I detect lemon and ginger. I don't smell hops or any grain bill presence but maybe we're not supposed to.

Tastes like someone poured lemonade in my beer, or beer in my lemonade. Brewer says, " a refreshing tart snap". Well, it is refreshing, it is tart and it does snap, sorta. From entry to aftertaste there's a lemon/ginger duet going on and little else except for a tart sourness.

Light texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a clean, balanced, well made brew with no flaws that I can detect. I honestly wondered though if I couldn't make a better tasting version of this by simply mixing Miller High Life and Countrytime lemonade.

 

Rodenbach Vintage 2014 foeder n° 192. Picked up this one a couple of moths ago in a supermarket (!) in Belgium. Interesting and very complex. But recapping it with a vacuum sealer for now.

I have two of my oldest, dearest friends, both of whose marriages are ending at the same time, and I've been on the phone with one or the other of them, it seems, continuously for the past week. Honest to God, I don't have time for little beers in small bottles.

I can't bear to hear the words so I'll play Pat's instrumental version...

 

Looks like they're saving money on glue. Could the man be responsible? At least the beer is good!

Le Petit Prince from Jester King. Have been looking for this one for some time and it's a rare find around here. Wonderful table beer. Light on alcohol (2,9%) but very tasteful. I like it.

The sun is out once again and that's reason enough to celebrate! Almost two more inches of rain fell overnight adding to all the standing water meaning a bumper crop of mosquitoes is coming. I better take advantage of the great outdoors before I become a blood donor!

My first ever Founders Rubaeus...this is really great for a fruit beer.
This beats Sam Adams Cherry Wheat as my favorite fruit beer!
