Had to try a little taste test with Nelson. Rico has just been underwhelming. And hey, I'm a fan of malt but .......

I'm just not getting enough Nelson characteristics- aroma or flavor, on the Rico. It's just a beer. Not really any balance. The malt isnt overwhelming its just that are no distinguishable Nelson characteristics. Not really one to go by the ratings but I'm not getting it on this one. Trillium crushes Against the Grain. My two cents.

 

I had my share of draft beer this weekend and all but one were VA beers. Changing up with this excellent IPA courtesy of @TheIPAHunter Thanks dude. This stuff is great!

 

Pretty tasty brew, ABV hidden very well.

Starting the Summer beer season with a classic

 

Tastes better than Corona, but that's really not saying a whole lot. It actually wasn't too bad.

@TheIPAHunter i bought a growler just to have enough to wash my hair... it is called magic green nuggets for a reason

 

Super berry aroma. On the taste it's aggressively sour... more so than I'd wish. Finishes on a lingering berry note. Maybe I'll like it more as it warms?

Today has really been swell! After many iffy days, the wife got up, wanted to go out, and had a great time in the pool! We met several of our neighbors, and Mrs. Z was her old social self. A little sun and fun, and everything's good; now upstairs for the evening. I'm so pleased with her progress today, I'm going to indulge:



This brewery sure knows how to take a great, drinkable stout, and make it even better. No artificial flavors. No additions. Just craftsmanship. So good... Cheers!

 

After having a ridiculously hazy Tanto IPA from Barrier moving on to another Night Shift...not as good as the Tanto but good in its own right. Refreshing, big grapefruit rind.

 

Check out Veil on instagram (I get their updates). They will list what is being released for the week (usually on Tuesday). It can be a mad house on Tuesday. Wednesday is more to my liking and at least half the time they will still have cans available from the Tuesday release.
