'Morning, the good news of the day is Goose has made it to my local mall, maybe this has to do with the fact they were bought by ABinBev ?

    Hey you all! Cheers =)
Sierra Nevada and Ayinger Dunkle Weisse

If this beer is a traditional example of this style, and from Ayinger no less, this was bold as you please with subtle flavor of coffee from carafa lll . A classic style brought to a sensation but not out of character . The hefeweizen was a pretty sensation anyway and you have to live up to it.Cheers!

The pour is turbid and dark. You can see the cloud in the beer in the stream as you pour it. The new bjcp has this category calling it the dunkels wiessbier. Rusty brown. Fat head of tan foam that falls a bit fast but some of it lasts. Nose is hearty with banana and bread. There is a bubble gum ester and it is not too strong. Bread and a soft light caramel mix so well. Banana marries with hop floral. Clove is light and both bread and spice pepper the nose. They are using carafa 3 and you can get a whiff of coffee on this nose.it is very subtle though and a cheeky surprise . It never becomes too strong on the nose. The flavor is wonderful and a touch roasty because of that malt. However it still has the classic little tang of the wheat beer in the finish. Drinks lightly with a bit more spice on the palate than on the nose. No real caramel to weigh it down on the palate although on the nose it does have a soft fruity and nutty malt element. Dry bubble finishes it and there is just a quick finish from hops before the malt again lingers dry.

This drank so lightly and was a real pleasure with all the sensation of the wheat beer only made dark.

Starting off hump day the right way, with the King of New Mexico IPAs, Cumbre's Elevated. Met the brewer a couple of weeks ago, Jeff, was good to hear about their recent expansion. Cheers all!

Cheers you all! When I opened up the case from Sierra Nevada I was heard to exclaim yay or larrrge or words to that effect and the reason was the three pint cans in there YAY!

This is West Coast Style DIPA from Sierrra Nevada and Boneyard.

The pour is true amber. Chill haze on a creamy gold body with a lasting head of off white foam. Nose is catty with weeds and dank with pineapple. Tropical notes, pungent grapefruit. Spice and pepper.

A little sugar shows off the hop herbal and those sweetened hops come together with just a ting from alcohol in this textbook perfect DIPA.

Mouthefeel is deceptively light for the abv . Not breaddy but soft and transient as the alcohol leaves as bitter as the hops. It's like you drew sap from the stem of a flowering plant.

Another from the Southern Prohibition Rotator Series . . .

Dark, rich brown with gold highlights. Rocky tan cap and moderate lacing.

Aroma of dark, ripe fruit, red plums I think, with hops on the back end.

Flavor is rich without being intense, it's definitely in the Farmhouse orbit. It doesn't really taste of fruit, just that impression which may be due to the Belgian yeast. None of the clove or other spices usually associated with that yeast, nor malt flavor really. Some earthy, herbal touches with hops (El Dorado only) peaking up only now and then. Some bread elements as well which I suppose are due to the Belgian and French Saison yeasts used. Clean finish with no surprises in the aftertaste, just a rounding off of the previous flavors.

    Creamy full texture.

Much richer and heavier than the 4.3% would imply. Again, showing that low alcohol and big flavor can go hand in hand.

A little harsh on the first sip from the dry hopping, but improving with every subsequent one. Certainly very similar to Lush, so it's a winner in my book.
