From yesterday and yes my head hurts....

We drove the four hours to Side Project for their limited release of Derivation Batches 1-3 as well as Double Barrel. They ran out of 1-3 before we got to the counter but were able to try everything except for Batch 2 (Vanilla). It was a good time indeed!

Still enjoying this beer. On the lookout for all things anchor. Their website taught me to decipher the bottle code. So now I'm excited about them.

And some hops for the day.

    Cheers.

I've been drinking mostly IPA's and a few sours lately. Time for a change of pace with a bottle from a six pack that was under the bar in the cave. It's a little faded after nine months, but still very good. The next batch will be out before you know it. I'm going to enjoy a couple hours of nothing on the couch after tackling the morning run and dog walk routine. I'm still a bit beat up from my weekend in Pittsburgh!:astonished: Cheers to the week ahead.....

OK, well, to kick things off today, enjoying my last Odd13 from the most recent sixer. Don't know if it's my last beer today...
Packed, mostly, for Seattle. Going to enjoy exploring that city over the next 4 weeks or so...
Will try to keep checkin' in and posting with the best thread here on BA. This WBAYDN group and thread is the only reason I keep coming back and subscribing. Cheers all!

Starting the day off with an Alesmith Speedway Stout can from 01/31/17. I wanted to drink one of these fresh but didn't get to it quite in time. Haven't had this beer for a couple years, in big bottle format. Glad it's in cans now. This is a really great imperial coffee stout. Tasting good right now. Cheers!

    Revisited this one . . .

Beautiful red gold color with white cap.

Aroma of caramel malt with a dusting of spicy hops.

Taste is malt forward with an emphasis on the caramel aspect of malt. It's a rich flavor that doesn't have any roasted malt bitterness and is rather soothing. Hop presence is muted while remaining in the background providing just enough counterpoint for the malt. Finish is clean with a mild malt aftertaste.

Overall it rides the middle road of red/amber beer with enough hop bite to keep things evenly balanced. More substance than the better Mexican ambers while being more lively than similar things such as Smithwicks or Newcastle Brown. It's also available fresher, at least around here, than the imports making it a safer bet to provide something a bit different to my casual beer drinking friends.

Good afternoon, BAs! As I see @larryi86 is doing, I am also taking advantage of summer break by doing some Monday day drinking. My last one of these. Still shining bright with almost a month on it.

A Lager Hell from Ayinger. It's not as bad as it sounds :grinning:

Crisp, smooth and mellow. Nice balanced taste and aroma. A wonderful beer for summer days like we are having now in NW Europe.
    Cheers!

Happy Monday ba. Looking at another nice week of vacation with half staycation and half a small trip up to boston later this week. Getting started with Purgatory, ipa, from Greenpoint. I'm not sure of the hop profile but it's crazy good dry hopped stuff. Lush hops with soft fruit tones and just enough dank and bitterness to keep it real. Dare I say underrated with it's 86 ba score?

Great weather this morning for a round of golf, first time out and hit some good ones. Two pars and a birdie on the front, I'll take it.

The wind has picked up and storms are on the way. Fun to watch the rough ocean right now...but not a beach day. Should be great weather the rest of the week though.

    Cheers everybody!

This is so good now I'm not going to make the mistake of letting them all waste away! A crazy day of brilliant sunshine that yields to dark clouds, thunder and drizzle that chased me to the porch only to have it stop as quick as it started. It's been a dry few weeks and the plants could use some needed moisture. Time to chill on the glider and watch the clouds go by.....

In the mood for one of my favorites from Hendrix today.....

Moving right along here ba. This is Black Friday stout, from Long Ireland, that is aged in whiskey barrels. The whiskey notes really help highlight the base brew without overpowering it. My only complaint would be that it drinks a touch too thin at just 8.6%,
