Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! I have a semi-busy day ahead of me. Need to get prepared for work tomorrow, though not many people will be in the office. I was thinking of telecommuting, but we will see about that. Hopefully will be able to get a nice new beer haul this afternoon.

Great Kolsch! Flavors of wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honeyed malts; with balanced herbal, grassy, light peppery hops; and mild lemon, pear, apple fruity/earthy yeast. Light herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Light-medium bodied; nice grainy creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness. Very crisp, clean, and refreshing! Very well restrained yeast character. I don't think I bought any last year, but this is just as great as I remember from 2015 when I reviewed it. Absolutely spot on style example. One of my main summer drinkers this year.

Fantastic coffee stout! Flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, raisin, cherry, smoke, char, and herbal hops. Very complex and vibrant fruity/nutty coffee character. Light-moderate herbal hop and roast/char bitterness; great bittersweet balanced roasted finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; light hop stickiness and chalky roast/coffee notes as well. Lightly increasing roasted dryness. Super smooth, minimal warming 8% ABV. Amazingly rich, complex, and well balanced. I am tempted to get another 6 pack if there are still any lingering around. This was my last can, but I think a few local stores have some singles left. I hope Epic sends some more fresh cans eventually.

Incredible DIPA. Just as outstanding as I remember from the first release. I preferred it more after I aged it for a year, from what I remember. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, and toasted oak balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/rind bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and increasing bitter/tannin dryness. Minimal warming 12.4%. Perfectly balanced between DIPA and barrels. Never overly sweet or heavy. They really nailed it with this one.

Incredible! Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, wood smoke, vanilla, caramel, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, molasses, and dark bread; with lighter notes of cherry, raisin, licorice, and charcoal. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and light bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied. Thick creamy, silky, bready Munich malt mouthfeel. Lightly slick, chalky, and tannic. Lightly drying bitter roast and oak tannins. Warming finish, very mild booze. This is supposed to be a re-brew of 21st Anniversary, but it is far better. More rich, roasty, dense, and complex; with more barrel presence, and less booze. We got another shipment of 4 packs a couple weeks ago, so I might have to grab another if I still can. Amazing smoked stout.

Jester's Nectar, Middle Ages Brewing Co. 12oz bottle, 8% abv

    3.56/5 rDev -6.8%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

Poured golden hazy into a generic tulip which resulted in a two finger white head of tightly packed bubbles which quickly dissipated with little to no lacing.

On the nose, a bit of what one would expect with a wit - citrus, spice and everything nice -

On the mouth, carbonation! subtle wit characteristics and not much as far as feel and spice, but alcohol (8%) is not present...mouth feel is consistent up front, middle and back with absolutely no alcohol warming, which is an unexpected surprise...

Overall, this could be my new "lawnmower beer," thirst quenching, refreshing and much too easy to drink and drink fast.

    Thanks for reading...

    N'Ice Chouffe, Brasserie d'Achouffe, 33cl bottle, 10% abv

    4.39/5 rDev +8.1%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.25

    33cl bottle, best before 02/18

Poured into a Chouffe goblet dark, murky and promising - resulted in a two finger off-white tightly packed head which did not dissipate - tiny bubbles (think Don Ho...) continue to emanate from nucleation sites at the goblet's bottom surface .

On the nose, subtle spice, sugar, dark stone fruit and a strong signature of coriander.

On the mouth, up front strong malt, spice and carbonation which carries through the middle and back - with an extremely satisfying herbal presence of coriander which is surprisingly thirst quenching while providing an overall full mouth-feel.

Overall, this is one is extremely drinkable and satisfying.

    Thanks for reading...

PS: Drinking this to pay homage to Le Tour de France which is racing through L'Ardenne - A Votre Sante!
