[IMG] Playing in a golf tournament with a group of high school friends and 4 years ago this would have been Harpoon IPA because the selection was terrible, no longer an issue. Cheers

    Good morning BA
Trying to get started on a pile of Oktoberfests that have been sitting in the fridge while I've been on antibiotics for a sinus infection.

This one is a little sweet. I've got a 6 pack of assorted German examples ready to go. Looking forward to getting through them. I need to get some rest before my last night shift tonight. Cheers! :beers:

OB IPA Recycled image, live beer; since I have the morning off. Cheers, all!
Finally got to try a new place last night, Bangers & Lace (CHI) but didn't think much of the service. Good tap selection, food was fine, but we felt like such an after-thought to the people working there...dunno, maybe give it another try in the future.

Trying this amazing beer from Põhjala this evening. Scottish ale aged in scotch whisky barrels. What could possibly go wrong? Cheers!

Very attractive lighter shade of gold in the appearance, white cap that goes away but lacing remains.

Yeasty aroma in a good way, underlain by spicy hops followed by caramel malt.

The aroma indicates sweetness but the flavor proves otherwise. Mildly caramely malt carries all the way through then rebounds in the aftertaste which is actually a bit richer than the initial taste impression. Hops follow along and quietly exit at the finish. If tasting this blind I would've said Belgian before asking who made it. It has those characteristics without actually screaming Belgian because I don't find a lot of clove/coriander or banana in there yet there's something reminiscent of Belgian brewing about it.

Overall this is a capably brewed Belgian Style Blonde Ale (the brewer's words) that is well balanced with good flavor. At 5% it's fairly quaffable, has enough acidity to stand up to grilled fish, doesn't challenge the hop challenged and has enough substance for the bolder flavor crowd.

Another old forgotten bottle that I purchased two years ago in Arizona. A very interesting mix of dark fruit that's mildly tart. There's little whiskey taste, but quite a bit of oak in the finish. I'm going to let this warm a little more and further dissect. Not too bad as it stands now. Cheers gang......

Strafe Hendrik Heritage 2015. Had some sips already. Still a bit to cold of course. I leave it out of the fridge to warm up the coming hours. Rather special. I only can find these kind of bottles in Belgium for normal prices.
    Cheers!
