The aroma alone on this beer made me love it. I could swear there was Nelson in here, but if it says American hops then I guess no Nelson. Strong grape and berry notes in this, with rich malt that isn't too sweet or caramely, leading with roasty notes on the palate with the same rich malt and strawberry-like berry grape notes in the background with some tropical and stone fruit reminiscent of mango and peach, with floral earthy herbal dank grassy pine. Really impressive hoppy red ale from the badmen at Pipeworks. Cheers!

Maybe Belma hops? Or Calypso? Just guessing.

As per usual, Two Roads makes a fantastic gose. Their Plum Gose is super plum forward. It tastes like pickled plum preserves, juicy and overripe, with a puckering medium-plus tartness. Mild saltiness, just enough to wake up the palate and make the mouth water. I'm also getting notes of hibiscus, pomegranate, and sour cherry. Finishes crisp and clean. Excellent gose.

If you are in town again you should try to swing by Scofflaw.

Next up was Two Roads Persian Lime Gose. It's really good. The lime flavor is sweet and sugary like lime candy or limeade powder upfront, with a crisp crackery malt backbone in the middle, mild saltiness with medium-plus tartness, and then quite an intense rush of citric acid tartness on the finish. Being a sour lover, I don't mind it, but if I'm being super critical, I'll admit that it's a little harsh. As a result, I think I now prefer the plum gose over this one. This is still really good, though.

Then I had Gun Hill Join Or Die IPA. Really great IPA. Lots of lemon peel and orange peel upfront, hints of sweet mango, papaya, and pineapple; a crisp cracker malt backbone, and an underlying earthy bitterness that is subtle at first but lingers a while.

Next up after that was Victory Home Grown. A damn fine hoppy lager, bursting with zesty, bittersweet grapefruit/lemon/orange peel notes, a crisp crackery pilsnery malt backbone, a really dank grassy, earthy undertone, and a dry and bitter finish. Definitely a session lager for the hopheads. Great stuff.

This is my nightcap. Hooray for being a night owl. Haha. This lives up to the hype and its a world-class stout, imo.

I was disappointed with it too. In fact, I wasn't crazy about the 21st Anniversary either. I did think the Quad they did for #20 was great.

Thanks! It's the art form for people that can't draw or paint.
