    Having a Vintage Johanniter Weizen Dubbelbock.

    Returned from the Plymouth and the SW coast of Britain (and a couple of days in London) last Sunday morning.

    No beercation or vacation, but I had a small window of opportunity every day for one or two beers. Mena Dhu Stout from Cornwall and Beavertown Lupuloid (had that one in London) were some 'wow beers'.

    Been to some wonderful pubs and inns in small harbor villages in the weekends. Amazing historical settings going back to the days of Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada (and before that, to keep it short).

    Good afternoon BA's! Just got home last night from Denver and our GABF trip. Had a couple beers while putting away the haul... way too much to take out and individually snap but have all these pics so what the heck. :wink: You know me and all this 'What was I drinking'. I hereby solemnly promise my next post will be in real time. :grin: Here's some highlights...

    After the Photobucket crash, I have been using imgbb. It's not perfect, but it stores photos and gets the job done. You can create separate albums so that makes it nice.

    - : just saw the reversal of the Clean Power Plan... an attempt to be regressive on clean air and water measures, and to innovate for the 21st century. Ugh. Sorry, can't help it.
    + : I have a Half Acre Goneaway IPA in my hand, and a mouthful of XOCO torta (ahogada) in my craw.
    Sigh.... I'll call it a scratch. Feels like a Monday though. Cheers... if you feel up to it. :slight_frown:

    10am seems like the perfect time to crack something open. Yesterday was a Mosaic Fresh Hop IPA. Today is a Citra Fresh Hop DIPA. Pleasant and smooth smell and taste then gives way to a piney mid-palate and bitter, boozy finish. You can't really hide the 8.8% character.

    Don't believe I've had a beer from Holland before - "8.6 Original", a Euro Lager-Strong by Bavaria Brouwerj:



    Phenolic with a strong corny sweetness...

    I miss Pizza Port more than any other brewery. Kind of funny with how many great ones are down there, but they were my go-to, and the Biergarage was always well stocked with them. Cheers!

    Everything I've tried by them has been outstanding, so I can see why. Fairly easy to find too, I guess. In California at least.
