This might be the best beer I’ve had for 2017... Shouldn’t be a surprise since Paul “Take All of My Money” Arney was involved...

And tres, a 7.2% IPA I picked up in Cordoba a couple of days ago, by Cordo Beer (Sagra Brew, S.L.), Cordoba:



Good looking deep gold with moderate lacing; skunky hop nose and taste; slightly bitter lemongrass middle; medium lite/moderate carbonation; bitter, earthy hop linger - ok...not my favorite, just happy to be drinking an IPA.

On a ticking tear today - a double Pilsner ringing in at 6.2%:



Good looking beer...sweet corn/rose petals nose; taste is slightly phenolic and sweet; odd semi sweet, perfumy nose and taste. One and done - oh well, it's a beautiful day in the mountains, high of about 62/63 degrees, and I'm drinking beer - what's not to like? Cheers!

Judas Priest - The Sentinel

 

Another swing at this one (or maybe that's swig) . . .



Taste is puzzling. It's as if the committee had a tie vote on whether to go with a rich marzen style or a West Coast hop forward brew. What they came up with is a juxtaposition of the two that doesn't really come together. I think it would work better as a Pale Ale rather than an amber.

A screw off cap really doesn't announce craft but I will say it's a good try and hope it succeeds because that might encourage Bud to come out with more along this line.
