Very nice Berliner Weisse with a nice and mellow citric sourness and quite a bit of saltiness.

Lowered the flag earlier and took a moment to remember the events of 76 years ago. A few sips of KBS now before I walk the dogs on a cold morning that saw a dusting of snow.

Mrs. Z is still in bed (it’s 4pm here); long travel days really wear her out...I’ve walked down to the local train station to get maps/info, walked around our neighborhood/town, and picked up a couple of biers from the local grocery store. First up is one brewed for the grocer COOP, a lager, “Tell”:

More grainy than corny with just a little DMS. I think this is actually better than a lot of “Lager - Euro” beers I’ve had, and my cheap ass loves that it is less than a dollar a pint! I’ll drink again - Cheers from Zürich!

Quick grab out of the fridge to wash down some chilli . . .

Rich caramel malt on entry backed by floral, spicy hops. Dryer than the scent indicates, fairly simple flavors which for descriptive purpose I'll call Vienna malt and noble hops. Flavors are consistent all the way through, finishing clean and crisp with lingering malt touches in the aftertaste. This one strikes me as a moreso sort of amber with more malt and more hop flavor clearly a step above regular AALs running just far enough ahead of that pack to be noticeable without aspiring to greatness.

My first beer from Croatia - Karlovacko, a lager that smells like corny vegetable soup, but thankfully doesn’t taste bad at all:

I put the finishing touches on some indoor decorating and did a little house cleaning. By the time I finish it will be time to take everything down! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Copying many here by slowly drinking down the old beer stash. This Greenbush barrel aged Doomslayer was bottled 01/11/16 and has held up well. I like it better than fresh when it was quite whiskey forward with a earthy taste from the maple sap. It's slightly sweet now with a smooth whiskey bite and very woody finish. Cheers friends....

    Good afternoon BA
I'm drinking this Curmudgeon from 2015 to toast it's retirement. I wasn't a fan of it fresh but 3 years in the basement made this pretty awesome.
I know I said no more countertop pictures but there was no room for my beer on this China cabinet.
There are 5 more cabinets like this in the house and she complains about my negligible glassware collection.
Well, the Curmudgeon has warmed me up on the first mildly cold (high in the 30s) day down here. Here's hoping you have something delicious in your glass!:beers:

    One of my favorite stouts
With it being barrel aged is a bonus

Actually the whiskey is quite muted,
Tastes more like an amped up version of Yeti. Like a triple imperial stout

Caught this guy while snapping the pic

Keeps eye ballin' my Yeti :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
