I started this afternoon with an IPA, may just finish the evening with a DIPA - Switzerland’s Brasserie Trois Dames’ “Pasionaria”:



Unfortunately another over hyped brewery/over priced Swiss beer...murky amber (12+) that resembles a dirty creek water snow globe. Caramel, and skunky hops/Lipton lemon ice tea nose. Bitter hops, malt forward sweet caramel, skunky earthy hops with lemon hiding under all the sugar. A bit sweet, even for me...at CHF 5.80 I recommend a pass...silver lining: I may have to stay up and drink another beer to fix my palate

While I'm not one for resolutions, I am goal oriented and one is to start drinking down the stash which sometimes hides some forgotten souls that should have been consumed long ago. This Short's Hopstache IPA with grapefruit zest is at least several years old and I feared the worst when I opened it. While a shadow of it's former self, it was drinkable. It tasted like lemon zest and sweet malt as opposed to grapefruit. At least it wasn't a drain pour. Cheers, I'll show myself out of the virtual bar now.

 

Cheer up friends. New Years Eve is overrated in my opinion. I would sign up for a whale tasting New Years Eve party however

Trying the second one of three single NZ hopped beers with "complimentary" fruit and wacky yeast. Back home and easing into a night of watching it snow.

Thanks! I hit the thrift shops and antique malls for most of my odd ball glasses. I picked up 8 Christmas/Winter glasses last summer for about $10. It's just as fun, and way cheaper, than hunting whales. Cheers!
