We have a hard rain coming tomorrow. This stuff is roasty and tasty. Cheers
Omnipollo Zodiak, this stuff is quite unlike any other IPA I've had so far. It has some kind of note to it that reminds me of vanilla, but not quite. I also don't see how you would get a vanilla flavor in a non-BA IPA, can't really put my finger on it. Very tasty though.
Good morning BAs! Well, Mrs. Lizard went to lunch with a bunch of her friends Tuesday and appears to have returned home with a virus, most likely a rhinovirus. I can't wait to get it! Today's New Breakfast Beer is yet another from the killer boxes I received from @Dragginballs76 in NBS BIF #6:
Best brown ale I've ever had! Thanks Michael!

Rain, rain, rain, oh well, I can rail at the weather or Stout at the Devil . . .
Rich dark blackish color with gold tints at the edges and small cap.
Aroma of dark ripe fruit and chocolate with hints of brown sugar.
Taste on entry is a rather complex group of flavors consisting of dark roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, demerara sugar and sharp vanilla all intertwined like a Belgian chocolate truffle. That description sounds sweeter than it is because it finishes somewhat dry with an assertive roast malt bitterness emerging in the aftertaste.
There's a lot to like about this one flavor wise and little to discredit it. I could do without the surge of bitterness in the aftertaste but that's a minor quibble. The malt is strong in this one but the other elements add a complexity that advance it a couple steps above the ordinary oatmeal coffee stout.
Modern times Fruitlands 4.8%. Sour Tropical Fruit Gose. Not a big fan of sours Im surprised I like this one. Not super sour. Doesn't taste like straight vinegar. Not too salty. Really good smooth light malt flavor that keeps it mellow and gives some balance. Says pilsner and malted wheat on the can. It works good. I'm drinking it along side Luponic Distortion and Founders Breakfast Stout after a night shift. No real reason why I'm drinking them all 3 at the same time out of a taster glass but they're all tasting better than expected together. The Founders stout really shines after tasting the other 2 first. I get why I always see people drinking them in the morning.
Hiya guys and gals! I drank all of that smashing simcoe beer and now what do I have left? The house lager? Cheers!
6% alcohol. 16 IBU. Certified Kosher. Sold from November to February.
Great looking can, reminds me of the 80s....Beer sounds very good, who makes this one, curious if it is available in AZ.
This one is made by my favorite Alabama brewer, Straight to Ale in Huntsville, who's Brother Joseph Belgian Dubbel is outstanding.
Thank you, I will check them out online
Looking at them online, looks like a fantastic place. I see they do some distilling there also, that is cool. Their beer lineup looks great.
Founders Breakfast Stout 8.3%. Really solid stout. Bottled on 11.3.17. I prefer my stouts to be really fresh and not aged. This one at about 90 days doesn't have barely any noticeable boozy flavor as a opposed to on tap I thought I could taste the alcohol. I'm also not really picking up the 60 ibu. Even fresh on tap I didn't get a whole lot of bitterness from hops or black coffee bitterness, just good dark roasty balance, so I'm not sure about the 60 ibus.
I'm glad to find another good stout to add to my faves along with Bells special double cream, stone Xocoveza, and Old Rasputin. I was going to save two of these Founders for like a year to see what it taste like but that's not going to happen.
Another morning, another barrel aged coffee stout.
3 Floyds/Dark Lord. Courtesy of the always generous @mschrei.
Third one from the left, Founders CBS. On draft is even more amazing and that is saying a lot. The close up. Love this sauce!
Airport prices are absurd, but it''s hard to pass up good DIPA.
Central Waters Illumination Double IPA
Just finished up a commercial for a brewery that makes a Pumpkin Spice Latte Nitro Stout and a Chocolate Orange Nitro Stout - ( not as bad as it sounds )
so I though I'd crack a real good one on my day off - the second of my highly overpriced $34.99 bottles -
Back over to Kettlehead for a get this Dinosaurs Swimming In The Sky NEDIPA. Once again they nailed it. Super juicy!
Heading out to plow and shovel the driveways.
Enjoying one while the 4 wheeler warms up.
Have a good one and stay warm out there.
Mystic Danger! Danger!
Haunted Whisper Rum Barrel Age Claymore Wee Heavy Scotch Ale. Getting ready to be Rum Dumb, nice Barrel presence. Well done again at Kettlehead.
Surprisingly bitter - unpleasantly. Has some odd bite to it. I hope this improves when it warms up - tastes way overcarbed and like baker's chocolate.
Anyway. Happy Thursday, all!
Received this in a damaged can, so it's kinda flat, but as you swirl it, tiny bubbles are still forming. Still smells and tastes pretty good otherwise. Big on malt and pine, with a rich tropical fruit flavor and without the bubble gum note I often pick up from other DIPAs. A little boozy, but not too bad. Definitely would have been a shame to throw it out.
Was feeling punny today so I made some fajitas with pepitas. Cheers!
Round! it's close enough!
Tomorrow those are going to be chips. Or maybe tonight.

Wife said, “Isn’t it too early for beer?”
What I heard was “Isn’t it too early for liquid bread....?”
I said m, “Nope. Bread is breakfast of champions!”
Cheers to a great morning, BA!
