Last of the pack . . .



Light yellow color with small white cap.

Aroma of bready malt and floral somewhat citrusy hops.

Taste on entry is bready malt joined soon thereafter by a firm hoppiness. The two combined are a pleasant taste that comes across as dry with the hops gradually building to a sort of firmness that backs the malt but add little other than a dry bitterness.

Yeah it's listed as a beer style here so I figured I'd try it. It's definitely not really like any beer style, so is kvass really all that common in Eastern Europe? It's in every European grocery store here.

 

As far as I know Short Fuse is a relatively new Chicago area brewer. I've had one beer previously from them called
IPA-Bomb and I thought it was very good. This one received very nice reviews here but mine was way off. Belgium Styles don't work for me, (except for CW BBA Quad). This sure looked good on the pour...it must be the yeast.

Mrs. Z ran me all around the peninsula today that included, inter alia, a wine tasing, lobster rolls at the Tuesday morning market and condo shopping. First beer of the day:



Super fresh very bitter hops do not play well with the sweet caramel base, IMO, like a couple of fighters each slugging my tongue independently, each trying to knock me out. No holds on the flavor here! Cheers!

 

That's pretty awesome . . . Any chance of hallucinations ? I don't know much about Absinthe except it it made the drinker hallucinate back in the day.
